탕아들의 유쾌한 시작을 알리는 앨범. Motley Crue하면 Girls, Girls, Girls나 Dr. Feelgood이 먼저 생각나지만 이들의 데뷔 앨범도 상당한 퀄리티의 작품이다. Too Fast For Love 역시 메탈 팬들로부터 많은 지지를 받는 앨범이다. 이 앨범도 Shout At the Devil과 함께 L.A. Metal의 길을 연 작품으로 항상 높은 평가를 동반하는 작품이다. 앨범의 가치는 여기에 실려있는 곡들이 그대로 대변해 준다. Motley Crue의 최고 명곡으로도 꼽히는 Live Wire는 더이상 말이 필요없는 명곡이다. Live Wire는 단순한 곡이면서도 대단한 매력을 지닌 곡이다. 독특한 기타 리프가 매력적인 Public Enemy #1, Live Wire 만큼이나 높은 평가를 받는 Piece of your Action, 이 앨범에서 유일하게 진지함이 담겨 있는 Starry Eyes 등 L.A. Metal의 고전이 된 곡들이 이 앨범에 많이 포진해 있다. 분명 Dr. Feelgood이나 Girls, Girls, Girls이 본작보다 여러모로 더 우월한 작품인 것은 틀림없다. 그러나 두 앨범은 Too Fast For Love보다 절박함이 없다. 이 앨범은 Motley Crue가 한창 배고플 때 만든 앨범이다. 그러다보니 밴드를 구성하는 네 젊은이의 욕망이 그대로 흘러나오는 듯한데, 욕구를 배출하고 싶다는 절박한 감정이 고스란히 묻어 나오고 있다. 술, 여자, 마약 등 이들은 여기저기에 욕망을 분출하는 모습을 여과없이 음악속에 그대로 드러내고 있다. Dr. Feelgood은 보기 드문 명작으로서, 세련미가 넘치는 작품이지만 그들의 데뷔 앨범만큼 활력이 넘치고 있지는 않다. Too Fast For Love는 이 탕아들의 가장 에너지 넘치는 순간을 고스란히 담아낸 작품으로 Motley Crue의 명작으로 널리 인정받고 있다.

머틀리 크루는 내 취향에는 참 안 맞는 밴드이다.
개인적으로 팝 메탈,글램 메탈, LA 메탈 - 헤어 메탈도 좋아라 하지만, 머틀리 크루 1집부터 들어봐도 내 취향은 확실히 아니다.
그러나 이 Dr.Feelgood은 내가 이쪽 계열 앨범에서 가장 좋아하는 앨범이고, GN'R의 앨범보다 더 후한 점수를 준... Read More
