Hauntingly beautiful metal with otherworldly vocals and well-researched Phanerozoic era extinction period. Cambrian II reminded me of The Quiet Observer in the best way. Favourite tracks were Silurian: Age of Sea Scorpions, Devonian and Permian.

Pelagial is one of thebest concept albums out there. The doom metal/sludge/atmosphere only gets heavier as the album progresses down into the dark of the Hadal zone. The album’s lyrics weave Tarkovsky, Dostoyevsky, Freud and other heavyweights of the mind into an intimate narrative - the themes are deeply human.
