Chimaira의 세 번째 앨범은 밴드의 음악적 진화를 보여주는 작품이라고 할 수 있을 것이다. 밴드는 이 앨범에서 좀더 실험적인 방향으로 나아가려는 의지를 보여주었다고 생각한다. 그들의 셀프 타이틀 앨범에서는 멜로디는 다소 후퇴한 반면 강렬한 헤비 메탈과 그루브 메탈 바탕으로 한층 더 뜨겁고 무거운 사운드를 들려주고 있다. 이 앨범은 그루브 메탈의 강렬한 리듬과 베이스, 드럼의 타이트한 연주가 핵심이며, 헤비 메탈과 그루브 메탈의 융합을 대표적인 사례라 할 수 있겠다. 앨범에서 가장 두드러지는 특징은 바로 리듬 섹션의 압도적인 존재감이다. 리듬은 매우 강렬하며, 그루브의 흐름을 절묘하게 타고 내려가는 The Flame 같은 트랙은 그루브 메탈에 대해 호의를 가지지 않은 나 같은 리스너도 경탄할 만하다. 밴드가 자아내는 압도적인 리듬 섹션은 이들이 자아내는 그루브한 리듬에 빠져들게 만든다. 이렇게 리듬 섹션이 탄탄하니 자연스럽게 기타도 힘을 받을 수밖에 없다. 헤비 메탈 리프에 그루브한 리듬이 만나면서 매우 흥미진진한 사운드가 연출되고 있다.
