Nové album od legendy Deep Purple, jednoducho nazvané "=1" ponúka kombináciu viacerých Rock -ových štýlov od Hard Rock -u, cez Art., Blues, klasický až po AOR. Album sa ťažšie rozbieha a paradoxne prvá pieseň albumu (ktorá by mala práve nalákať) je pre mňa najslabšia. Starí páni a legendy v jednej osobe ponúkajú svieže nápady a keď si album človek vypočuje viac krát, ocení kvalitné a pestré nápady, či už gitarové (vyhrávky, sóla), klávesové alebo aj vhodne rytmicky doplnené bicie. Piesne sú nápadité, odlišné a niektoré obsahujú aj zložitejšie muzikantské prvky, prípadne sa rozvíjajú postupne, čo sa mi páči. Spev Ian Gillan -a je dobrý, ale nie je už tak silný ako v minulosti a z môjho pohľadu je aj najslabšou časťou albumu (no hneď dopĺňam, že je stále dobrý, len nie tak, ako v minulosti). Niektoré časti pekne zaspieva, no v niektorých skôr akoby kombinoval spev s rozprávaním.
