Scum it was a good album

More than thirty years after its release, "Scum" still sounds for me like total crap. To top things off, the production is terrible and is a mess all around. Lyrics behind this album possess some real depth, being one of the harshest anti-capitalist critiques in all of music, but all I can hear is just pure noise coming from every single member in the band.

You Suffer is the Best Song.

People define the word “heavy” in different ways, but if you want to define it as “playing as fast and as dissonantly as possible” than Scum was the heaviest album in the world when it came out, inventing a new genre so abrasive it couldn’t fit into Hardcore Punk nor Death Metal. Grindcore is, at its core, just taking music extremities to 11 at all costs, and Scum was the first Grindcore album. This record is therein about 28 minutes of 28 songs of that.

12번 트랙은 가히 역대급 킬링 트랙...

이런 음악을 만들 생각을 했다는 것에 굉장히 높은점수를 주고 싶습니다. 또한, 이런 음악을 만들 생각을 했다는 것에 점수를 깎게 됩니다. 어떤 이들은 '역사적인 가치는 제하고 음악에 대해서만 논하자' 라는 것이, 그들이 좋아하는 밴드의 경우는 어불성설 불합리이고, 관심 없는 음악의 경우는 공정하고 합리적인 판단이 될 수도 있다고 보고 있는 것 같습니다.

절제미를 보여주다가도 미친 듯이 갈기는 블래스트 비트와 혼돈스럽게 찌지직거리는 기타 솔로가 휘몰아친다

그라인드의 조상격 앨범이지만 전곡이 균일한 세션이었으면하는 아쉬움이 있다. 13번이후의 트랙들은 사운드가 너무 텁텁하다.

그라인드 코어는 역시 내취향 아니다

I certainly wouldn't label this as a quote-unquote "humble" start(ha, that was redundant!), because they made pretty good stuff even when they were starters. What's better is they garner skill through time, and the next few releases showcase their full abilities.

직선적인 매력을 듬뿍 내포한 앨범. 취향이 안맞아서인지 아주 큰 감흥은 받지 못했지만 이 계열에서 보여줄수 있는 잠재력은 모두 응축되어 있는 느낌이다.

Lee Dorrian 보컬의 반항하는 몸짓이 인상적이다. '인간 쓰레기' 트랙만 봐도 알 수 있다.
