스웨덴의 데스메탈 밴드 Repugnant
1998년에 결성되서 EP, 데모, 스플릿등을 내다 발매한 첫 정규 앨범 (Epitome of Darkness) 이다.
스타일이 꽤나 독특한 데스메탈 앨범인데 매니아들로부터 엄청나게 좋은 평가를 받고 있다.
최근에 정말 많이 듣고 있는데, 앨범 처음 부터 신나는 리프들과 기억에 오래남는 노래들로 구성이 되어 있다.
10개의 트랙 모두 하나하나 지루하지 않고 독특한 특징들을 다 가지고 있어서 앨범 전체 듣다보면 시간 정말 금방 간다.
올드스쿨 Swedish 데스메탈 밴드 (Dismember, Entombed) 와 클래식 쓰레쉬 메탈 (Sodom, Kreator) 중간정도 되는 사운드라고 본다.
올드스쿨 데스메탈/쓰레쉬 메탈 좋아하는 사람이라면 앨범 내내 헤드뱅잉 하고 코러스에 맞춰 괴성을 지를수 있을것이다.

Ghost의 보컬이자 리더인 Tobias Forge가 데스메탈을 했었다는 사실을 알게되었다. 음악자체는 딱 별 특별할게없는 스웨덴 데스메탈 사운드

상당한 물건이다. 프로덕션부터 리프까지 거대하게 펼쳐진 음산함으로 청자를 압도한다. 다만 중간중간 나오는 스웨덴 데스 스러운 경박한 리프와 곡들이 너무 아쉽다.
