Killswitch Engage의 곡들을 논할 때 절대로 빠지지 않는 명곡 My Curse가 포함된 앨범. 청자의 감수성을 자극하는 멜로딕 메탈코어의 진수

이들 최고작이라고 생각합니다. 화려함의 극치를 들려주는 리프들과 미국스러운 멜로디가 어우려져 있습니다. 전작들에서 너무 빡세기만하거나 밸런스조절이 조금 치우쳤다거나 등등 아쉬웠던 점이 있었는데 본작은 그런 부분들을 잘 메꿔낸 음악이라고 생각합니다. 다만 클린보컬의 중후한 성악가같은 톤의 발성은 아무리들어도 익숙해지지 않는 부분입니다.

본작을 감상하면 저주에 걸려버리고 만다. 바로 5번 트랙 My curse를 앉은 자리에서 대여섯번을 돌려버리는 curse에 걸리게 된다는 것... 그 외에는 1,7번 트랙 정도가 인상적이었다. 하지만 킬스위치의 묵직하고 공격적인 사운드를 유감없이 보여주는 수작.

보너스 트랙에 있는 holy diver 커버를 통해 입문하게 된 의미로라도 이 앨범은 90점.
앨범 자체에서도 곡들 하나하나의 개성이 묻어나온다

미친그룹이구만. 멜로디작살. 다만 아쉬운건 보컬이 조금 느끼하다. ㅋ
갠적으로 보너스트랙으로 있는 Holy Diver (Dio Cover)가 기억에 많이 남는듯..
