밴드의 두 번째 앨범 Ravenheart는 Xandria에게 기대이상의 성공이라는 보수를 주었다. 90년대에 불어닥친 뉴웨이브 열풍에 동참한 Xandria의 노선을 메탈 팬들은 지지한 것이다. 밴드는 Ravenheart의 성공에 힘입어 또 한차례 변화를 예고했다. 그것은 심포닉 요소의 대대적인 도입이었다. 전작에서도 심포닉적인 요소가 없었던 것은 아니다. 그러나 후속작 India와의 차이는 그러한 요소가 그다지 부각되지 않았다는 점이다. 엄밀히 말해서 Ravenheart는 팝 고딕의 범주에 들어가야 할 앨범이다. 그러나 Xandria는 India에서는 Symphonic Gothic을 지향하고 있다. 이러한 노선은 일반적인 뉴웨이브 고딕 메탈의 유행을 좇은 것이다. Xandria는 뉴웨이브 고딕 메탈을 지향하지만 Nightwish나 Within Temptation처럼 직접적으로 씬을 주도해 본 적은 없다. 언제나 이들은 무언가 새로운 것을 창안해내기 보다는 남이 창조해 낸 것을 자신의 것으로 하는 데 소화시키는 데 능했다. 그렇기에 이들이 만들어내는 음악은 창의적인 아이디어가 부족하다. 그러나 대신에 이들은 견실하다. 정해진 틀내에서 최상의 퀄리티를 뽑아냈다. They all sound professional & proficient. It's pretty good but I can hear how they depend on the singer's super vocal skills, and didn't make the compositions interesting. A few songs around the middle of the album are nice but I find no songwriting very good.
