1집의 엄청난 대 성공을 토대로 신급 존재로 여겨진 이들이 조심스럽게 4년만에 신보를 내놓았다.
Use Your Illusion 이라는 타이틀로 앨범을 발매를 했는데 제작기간 동안 성과가 넘쳐났는지
1,2 라는 각각의 앨범으로 하지만 동시에 발매를 하였고 둘다 모두 1,2위를 다투는 성공을 거둔다.
드러머는 스티븐 애들러에서 약물문제로 인하여 멧 소럼으로 교체되었으며 앨범 분위기는
전체적으로 좀더 깔끔해지고 단정해진듯한 느낌이 난다.
역시 이 음반의 매력은 노벰버 레인에 가장 큰 비중이 있다고 할 수 있는데 어떠한 락 발라드도
따라오지 못할 슬픈 감성이 베여있어 너무나도 아름다운 곡이자 솔로파트, 독특한 구성등에서도
앨범의 절반을 먹고 들어간다고도 생각이 된다.
그와 동시에 이 Use Your Illusion 1 앨범은 전체적인 구성이 2에 비해서는 조금 모자란듯 하다.
