One of the best of all time. Any typed out description would be doing it a disservice, so just listen to it, preferably a couple times.

Great for the time period. Suffers from bad recording quality though. Nothing too technical or interesting musically other than that it's one of the first death metal albums ever. So at the time, I'm sure the technicality was considered something special, but having listened to it for the first time in 2021, it's okay.

This is an album you listen to when you want to feel like you could rip someone's head off. Insane technical skill, paralleled with extreme brutality!

Extremely average in my opinion. Nothing glaringly bad, but no chances taken and nothing to set it apart either.

It's fine, but it seems to me like they do similar things to what other bands do with the mixture of softer and heavier bits, and not particularly better or worse than anyone else either. I can see why it may have been striking upon release though, since there might not have been many bands doing things like that at the time. I'm not sure. I was 6.
