Asking Alexandria의 2021년 앨범이 드디어 나왔다. 첫 싱글 Alone Again(밴드 약자가 AA인데 첫 싱글 약자도 AA라는 유희가 있다)에서 나쁘진 않을 것이라고 예상은 했는데 앨범 전체를 들어보니 소금 간 안 한 육개장 같은 느낌이다. 물론, If I Could Erase It처럼 좋은 곡도 있지만 이 앨범으로 명확해 진 사실은 예전의 Danny는 없다는 것이다. 몇몇 곡에서 멜로디가 충분히 헤비했음에도 그 안에 섞여 나온 Danny의 목소리에서 '난 더이상 Metalcore식 창법은 안할거니까'를 깨달을 수 있었다. 앞으로의 기조는 단순 Alternative/Hard Rock일테니 이 방향으로 잘 되기를 응원할 뿐

스크리밍이나 그로울링이 배제된 5집같은 느낌. 그래도 감은 어느 정도 돌아온 것 같아 다행이다. 그리고 스타일도 언젠가는 돌아올 것이라 믿어 의심치 않는다. 제발

더 이상 코어음악을 하지 않는다는것이 아쉽긴 했으나, 그 아쉬움을 상회하는 앨범을 만들어놨다. 그리고 전작보다 귀에 잘 들어오는게 좋았다
