바이킹메틀걸작들로 칭송받던 중기시절이후
스래쉬메틀로 회귀했던 시절의 작품들중 그 두번째작품으로
스래쉬메틀에 관한 첫번째 시도였던 Requiem과 마찬가지로
아주아주 혹평을 받았던 앨범이다.
물론 바소리가 이루어낸 바이킹메틀의 미학을 그 스스로
차버린 건 솔직히 아쉽기는 하지만 Requiem앨범은 그렇다고
쳐도 이 앨범까지 그렇게 까지의 혹평을 들어야만 하는지에는
강한 의구심이 든다.
장거리운전떠날때 듣기 좋은 스래쉬메틀인데 남용이라는 단어가
알맞을 정도로 투베이스를 엄청나게 밟아대고 있다.
그런데 스래쉬메틀이라고는 하지만 기본적인 노선이
데스메틀이기 때문에 꽤나 어울린다.
대표곡이라면 2번인 Born to die~~

Some songs here are destined to be skipped. I was bracing for something truly bad, but mostly it's so-so and lacking effort & refining, but there are some really pleasing songs alongside the really bad ones. Century stands out as a good one for me. In the end, these points balance out to a quite innocuous listen. As a whole not good.

Octagon album didn't impress me that much, but it's not a bad record either

Some consider this among the worst albums ever released. It's bad - in fact, it's very rare I give such a low rating to a Thrash album - but it's nowhere near bottom of all time territory.

오호, 그래도 전작 Requiem 보다는 훨씬 나아진 음악입니다. 스래쉬라고는 하는데 기타톤 때문인지 강렬한 인더스트리얼 메탈 같은 맛이 더 많이 납니다. 더 정확히는 스래쉬가 아니라 스래쉬풍이 적합할것같은. 쿼쏜의 특징있는 보컬은 역시 특유의 맛을 자아냅니다. 뼈대만 잘 살려서 다른 밴드들이 어프로치한다면 명곡들 쏟아질것같은 원석같은 리프들이 가득!
