Dark Moor의 데뷔 앨범 Shadowland는 유명세를 떨치는 밴드가 다 그렇듯이 데뷔 앨범이라 밴드의 역사에서 중요한 위치를 점하는 앨범이다. Dark Moor 특유의 클래시컬한 성향을 덧입힌 파워 메탈 사운드와 뛰어난 멜로디와 드라마틱한 분위기는 모두 이 앨범에서 유래했다. 이후 작품들이 더 뛰어난 작품성을 자랑하지만, 밴드의 방향성은 이미 데뷔 앨범에서 비교적 확연한 형태로 제시되었다. 다만, 데뷔 앨범이라 그들이 유로피언 파워 메탈 씬에 첫 발을 내디딘 만큼, 아직은 거친 느낌을 더 많이 담고 있다. 대신에 에너지와 열정은 Dark Moor의 여느 앨범과 더 많이 담겨 있다. 그들의 빠르고 드라이브감 있는 리프와 멜로디는 아직 어린 밴드의 활기를 고스란히 보여주고 있다. 그렇기 때문에 기량이 완숙한 경지에 이른 시기에 발표한 Tarot 같은 앨범이나, 그들의 정점을 찍은 작품으로 평가받는 The Gates of Oblivion과는 다른 매력을 드러낸다. 이 앨범을 통해 밴드는 점차 자신들의 스타일을 좀더 확고한 형태로 확립하게 되며, 바로 다음 작품에서는 발전된 작곡력과 세련된 사운드를 통해 유로피언 메탈 씬을 지탱하는 밴드 중 하나가 되어 간다.

I dunno why this is considered as one of the worst Power Metal albums. Well, I guess I can - the production is poor, the vocals aren't very good - but musically it's still a pretty great package.

유튭에서 nwohm 채널에서 인디밴드들 소개해주는 것 들어보면 딱 이런 느낌이다. 그 중에 그래도 다음을 기대하게 만드는 수준은 된다. 그리고 앨리사가 여자인 줄 위키를 보고 처음 알았다.

debutové album obsahuje klasické slabiny viacerých prvotín: slabší zvuk pri ktorom poriadne nevyznejú všetky nápady a nevyspievaný spevák, ktorý je miestami slabší. Na albume je však dosť kvalitných nápadov
