Draconian은 갈수록 저물어가는 고딕 메탈 씬을 지탱하는 가장 탄탄한 기둥 중 하나이다. 데뷔 앨범 Where Lovers Mourn부터, 장르 최고의 역작으로도 꼽히는 Arcane Rain Fell, 이후에 The Burning Halo, Turning Season Within까지 Draconian의 생산성은 경이적인 수준이다. 긴 텀을 두지 않고 비교적 짧은 시간 안에 이토록 뛰어난 작품의 제작 해낸 이들의 역량은 놀라운 수준이다. Turning Season Within을 들었을 때에는 이제 이들이 어떤 앨범을 낸다해도 실망스럽지 않을 것 같았는데, 후속작 A Rose for the Apocalypse는 처음으로 밴드에 대한 믿음이 흔들리게 한 작품이다. 사실 괜찮은 앨범으로 기억될 만한 작품을 보컬 문제로 손상되는 경우는 드문 일은 아니다. 단지 놀라운 것은 그토록 Draconian에 대한 굳건한 믿음을 견지하게 했던 Lisa Johansson이라는 사실이다. 보컬에 초점이 맞춰져 있기는 하지만 Draconian은 연주력, 작곡력 모든 면에서 장르내 최고의 밴드라는 사실은 분명하다. 특히 고딕적인 어두운 색채의 음색을 자아내는 밴드의 역량은 비길 데가 없는 수준이다. 여기에 Lisa Johansson의 물기가 뚝뚝 떨어지는 처연한 목소리는 이 밴드의 알파이자 오메가 다름없었다. So much is so excellent on this album; lyrics, instrumentation, songwriting, production values, and both singers. It's just enjoy, enjoy, enjoy. I like some other albums by them more, but I can't find any negative criticism for this one in me.

전작만큼의 임팩트는 없지만, 꽤 잘 만든 앨범이다. 보컬 Lisa 가 마지막으로 함께 한 앨범이라 그런지 음색이 더 구슬프게 느껴지는듯.

기대에 걸맞는 수작을 내주었다. 2, 7번 트랙이 베스트. 다만 리사의 목소리가 1, 2집때와 같은 물기 어린 목소리가 아닌 점점 건조한 모습인 것 같아 약간 아쉽다.
