Oh man. Guess what To The Grave, one of the best modern Deathcore bands, just released?
It's another uninspired beatdown album that isn't mixed well and is incredibly generic. So many bands have released the same thing this year that 2024 might go down as the "year of beatdown". They must've heard Knocked Loose's first song off You Won't Go Before You're Supposed To and decided to just do that. After how good Director's Cuts was and how amazing some of the tracks off Offcuts were, I highly expected this to be one of the better releases of the year. Instead...
It's
Another
Beatdown
Album
Similar to Kublai Khan but not as boring, this sits as an incredibly mediocre release. The only highlight is the vocals, brutal as always from Dane Evans. The instruments are performed decently but the mix is awful and is hard to listen to at times. I was really hoping we'd get more of what they did with High Impact. Instead, they leave the entire fandom upset with this rushed and poorly made album, nowhere close to their typical standards.
Completely disappointing.
