Album of the day #2. Whitesnake - 1987
Whitesnake's "1987", also known as the band's title album, is a true hard rock classic that shows the group was at its peak. The album is full of quality hard rock, and it flirts strongly in the direction of glam metal, without falling into excessive "cheesiness". The song material is strong and well-composed throughout, and the production is polished to its peak. Three diamond songs in particular stand out from the album: "Still of the Night", "Is This Love? " and "Here I Go Again", which delight every time you listen to them just as much as most of the other song material. "1987" is Whitesnake's best album by far, and the band has still not managed to surpass this achievement, although the later release "Slip Of The Tongue" is also extremely strong in terms of content.
