I have not enjoyed a Candlemass album that much since "Death Magic Doom". Still, quite far from the true jewels from the past.

Candlemass are back with their 13th regular studio album "Sweet Evil Sun" which offeres traditional Epic Doom Metal. The guitars are heavy, dark and the rhythms solid as ever. Songs are catchier and simpler structured and the musicianship is competent with some hammering riffs and much aggression in it.

zo začiatku som sa do novinky "Sweet Evil Sun" dostával trošku dlhšie, ale po cca 6-tich vypočutiach som začal objavovať dostatočne jeho kvality. Po hudobnej stránke sa opäť jedná o tradičný Epický Doom Metal s kvalitným zvukom, príjemne podladenými gitarami a kvalitným spevom Johan Längquist -a. Podarené album.

Doomy & dank with nasty swaggering guitarwork. After more than 30 years these guys slam down before us this totally genuine and inspired album with no lame parts and no particular flaw. Thank you Candlemass.
