Dark Fortress의 두 번째 앨범 Profane Genocidal Creations 또한 전작의 기조에서 크게 벗어나 있지는 않다. 블랙 메탈 씬에서 비교적 잘 먹히는 Dissection류를 추종하는 밴드의 방침은 좋은 선택이라고 할 수 있을 것 같다. 여전히 이 앨범에서 청자에게 들려주는 사운드는 블랙 메탈 특유의 차갑고 암울한 분위기를 표방하고 있으며, 그로울링과 스크리밍 보컬, 스피디하고 공격적인 드러밍, 강렬한 기타 리프는 충분히 불길하게 들린다. 여기까지는 전작과 대동소이한 편이지만, 밴드는 본작에서 좀더 정교하고 변화무쌍한 구성을 통해 단순히 Dissection의 아류에서 탈피하려는 노력을 보여주고 있다. 그와같은 노력이 밴드가 의도를 달성했는지는 의심스럽지만, 적어도 Dark Fortress가 또 한차례 좋은 작품을 만들어 낸 것은 분명해 보인다.
