L.A Guns 라는 이름에서 건즈앤로지스의 아류 밴드나 이들중 한명이 빠져나와서 만든 평범한 밴드로 알고 있다가 이 음반을 구하고는 정신을 싹 고쳐먹고 "멤버가 대체 누구지?"라고 생각하며 찾아보았던 기억이 난다. 아이러니하게도 건즈앤로지즈는 트레이시 건즈와 액슬로즈가 결성하며 지은 이름인데 데뷔앨범부터 트레이시 건즈는 없는데 꾸준히 그 이름을 사용한것이 어떤 사연인지 궁금하기도 하다.
당시 글렘메탈이 성행할 때 메탈 팬들이 어떤 음악을 원하고 있는지 정확히 파악하고 시원한곳을 글어주듯 정말 시원시원하고 흠잡을곳 없는 곡들만으로 이루어진 훌륭한 쌍팔년도식 명반이다. 특히 필 루이스와 트레이시 건즈의 조화는 이런 쌍팔년도의 싸구려틱한 사운드와 어우러져서 만족스러움을 더욱 배가시켜준다.

This isn't the tired glam sound that everyone knows from those boring bands in the scene. I like the ballad "One Way Ticket", it's not at all like that cheesy pop thing. "Bitch Is Back" captivates me with some amazing guitar work too, as does the last track "Down in the city", whose opening guitar riff caught my attention. The whole album is fire.
