모던 멜블랙?? 굳이 갖다 붙이자면 이런 장르명이 될것 같은 앨범이다. 예전, 그 마저도 얼마 없는 멜블랙 밴드들이 추구하던 음악은 보통 심포닉 블랙메탈에 뽕짝스러운 멜로디를 가미한 형식이라면 본작을 낸 오블리에는 앳모스페릭 블랙 메탈을 중심으로 장엄하면서 비장하고 서정적인 멜로디를 입혀내 청자에게 아름다운 분위기를 선사한다. 요즘 유행하는 포스트 블랙의 모습도 상당히 보임으로써 자칫하면 포스트 블랙과 혼동할 수 있는 애매한 내용물이다. 허나 그러한 장르들을 좋아하는 내게 적어도 이 앨범은 만족스럽다. 다만 블랙의 정통성만을 추구하고 말랑말랑한 면을 싫어하는 골수 블랙 메탈 팬들에겐 다소 반감이 생길지도 모르겠다.
