The Nightmare of Being

Por muchas razones este es un gran trabajo. En mi opinión es un trabajo muy bien ejecutado. Algún tema puede parecer flojo, si lo oyes en solitario, pero la escucha completa del disco lo hace de una calidad absoluta. Ahora bien, destacaría el comienzo con Spectre of extinction y la gran The Paradox. También me encantan Garden of Cyrus, Touched by the white hands of death o The fall into time.

상당히 감성적으로 변한 앨범이다. 그렇다고 Insomnium같이 변했다는 것이 아닌, 이전 이들의 커리어에 비해 훨씬 더 서정적으로 변했다는 말이다. 솔직히 ATG 실력이면 못 만들어도 평균은 가기 때문에 딱히 들으며 크게 실망하지는 않았던 기억. 4번 중간쯤에 등장하는 트럼본 비스무리한 소리도 나름 신선하게 들었다.

Definitely different their the other post-reunion stuff but everything from the guitar tones, arrangement, instrument choices, and lyrics are very well thought out and they definitely delivered a stellar album. This is one of those albums that you need to listen front to back to properly appreciate.

There are some good songs on here. The Paradox is by far my favorite on the album. I didn't care for a lot of it. Often times, It didn't feel like ATG. Other standouts for me were Touched by the White Hand of Death, Eternal Winter of Reason and Spectre of Extinction.

지난 앨범은 묘하게 산만해서 집중이 안되더니 이번 앨범은 깔끔하게 정리해서 돌아왔다. Slaughter of the Soul 이전 앨범들과 컴백 이후 앨범들은 거의 20년의 텀이 있는만큼 그 결이 확실히 다른데 이번 앨범을 통해 어느정도 후반기 스타일을 제대로 정립했다고 볼수도 있겠다.
