Charcoal Grace

I can tell the members are serious about their instruments, and these songs are quite challenging. Some huge flaws on the album include some painful treacle moments and corny ones too - major problems on the composition side. Also, I started really needing the singer to shut up, especially with the wordy & sophomoric lyrics in a vocal tone that gets old very fast. I know lots of people love this album, but those flaws drag the score down to a mediocre 75 for me.

What a magnificent album... certainly one of the best of 2024. Epic, progressive, melancholic, emotional and with touches of heaviness and aggression. The album demonstrates originality and a lot of identity, which is very difficult in today's times, when it comes to progressive metal, but the band did it masterfully.

Djent 보다는 포스트락 성향이 더 강조된 서정적인 프록. 고급스러운 톤이 느껴진다.

완성도 높은 프록메탈이다. 이 밴드는 처음알았는데 그전앨범도 찾아봐야겠다.

good album by Caligula's Horse. Interesting portion of progressive music.

칼리굴라의 디스코그라피중 최고다. 악곡이 밋밋한 편이 아닌데도 산만하지 않고 약간의 차분한 느낌이 있으면서 전혀 지루하지 않다. 92점.

간만에 듣는 수작 프로그레시브 젠트 앨범. 개인적으로 프록을 좋아하지 않음에도 불구하고 리프가 살아있고 복잡한 연주보다는 분위기나 리듬이 강조되어 듣는 재미가 배가 되었다. 보컬이 그로울링이었더라면 취향 100점 짜리 앨범이 되었지 않을까라는 생각도 드는 앨범.

Perfect album wow

이 밴드의 이전 앨범을 들어본 적이 없어서 기대치를 최대한 낮춘 채로 들어봤는데... 1번 트랙에서부터 왜 평이 좋은지 알 것 같다.

Very good indeed, yet nor that amazing. Still candidate for best metal album of 2024. Great job!

올해 상반기는 이거다

듣다가 흥분해서 이런 평가가 나만의 것인지 확인하려고 메탈킹덤에 들어왔다. 3-6번 트랙을 연속으로 감상해 보시라. 빡센 젠트 느낌이라기보다는 세련되어진 정통 프록메탈의 향기가 물씬남.

전작에서 물 위에 뜬 기름 처럼 겉돌던 젠트 요소를 줄이고 프록메탈 비중을 높히면서 비로소 자리를 잡은 듯 하지만, 결과적으로 빡센 하켄이 되어버린 건 타고난 보컬과 멜로디의 색채 때문이려나; 여튼 전작 부터 뛰어났던 프로듀싱과 믹싱도 강회되어 최상급의 듣는 재미는 덤.
