전작에서 정점을 찍었는지 막상 전작보다는 못하지만 에릭 루탄으로 프로듀서가 바뀌고 사운드가 다소 건조해졌다. 연주도 헤비함 보다는 타이트하고 달리는 느낌도 좀 더 살아있고, 코어적인 느낌도 나고, 멜로딕한 느낌도 좀 더해지는 등, 거의 세월에 고정불변한 브루탈을 지향해온 캐니벌콥스였는데, 어느덧 세월과 타협하였는가? 고집스런 사운드에 소소히나마 변화가 왔다.. 그들도 나이가 먹어서일까? 마냥 달려대기만 하는것도 아니고, 세월지나 올드 데쓰스타일이 아닌 현대적 감각도 좀 넣어보고, 작품을 들어보면 프로듀서와 멤버들 사이에 말그대로 사이좋게 좋은 작품을 만들기 위해 참 많이 의논도 하고 연주도 해보고 하는 보기좋은 모습이 떠올라서 극악의 사운드를 들으면서도 흐뭇해진다. 데쓰메탈은 무형문화재 같아서 연주자가 더 이상 연주를 안하면 사라질텐데, 초기 데쓰로 시작해서 수 많은 밴드들이 그것을 포기하고 다른 스타일로 변모한 지금시기, 아직도 꿋꿋하게 제자리를 지키는 캐니벌 콥스에게 진심으로 경의를 표한다. 앞으로도 이 역경의 시기를 헤치고 건강한 모습으로 팬들곁에 나타나길 간절히 바란다.

it has some good musical ideas, but mostly Cannibal Corpse's music and lyrics just don't appeal to me

얼마전 상업적으로나 대중적으로나 제일 성공한 데스메탈 밴드라는 기사를 봤는데 정확한 것 같다 Red Before Black은 최고의 킬링트랙

최근에 카콥을 참 괜찮게 보고 있는 참인데 이번 신보도 이렇게 멋지게 내주니 정말 좋다. 앞으로 카콥은 믿고 들어야 겠다.
