Great album. Maybe best hard rock/blues rock album of all-time?

블랙 새바스나 딥퍼플에 비해 시큰둥 했던 밴드였지만 시간이 흐를수록 다가가게 된 밴드. 기존의 리마스터 2시디 베스트 마더쉽 정도로 만족하고 살았지만 최근 2014 지미페이지 리마스터본을 모으면 어떨까 싶어서 사게 되었다. 블루지한 음악을 싫어하는게 아니었지만 아마 이들의 민요적 느낌이 많은 것에 적응을 못했던 것이 아닐까 싶다.

Perhaps this is the fourth or fifth time that I re-listen to this album. It is a fantasy album because I cannot describe it, and if I describe it, perhaps I cannot praise it properly.

Band decided that album would officially be untitled and would be represented instead by four symbols chosen by each band member. 앨범 커버 조선시대 나무꾼인줄;

Beyond album titles, beyond the band's name being on the cover, and beyond what anyone could even dream for in an album. The weaker songs on the album are some of the best rock songs ever. I enjoy Misty Mountain Hop and When the Levee Breaks the most. It's only 42 minutes, but it's like 8 hours of quality condensed.

A perfect blend of Led Zeppelin's signature styles remaining as timeless as it was back then makes Led Zeppelin IV, in my opinion, the greatest album ever.

음악역사에 한 획을 긋는 곡 Stairway to Heaven이 수록되어있는 이들 앨범들 중 최고라고 쉽게 말할 수 있는 4집. 기타리스트들(이라기 보단 폼내면서 기타치기를 좋아하는 기타쟁이들)이 오죽 자주 쳤으면 몇몇 bar에서는 이 곡은 치지 말라는 문구까지 있을 정도였다고. Black Dog과 Rock and Roll도 이 앨범의 진주이다

강렬한 로버트 플랜트의 목소리와 어울어지는 찰진 리프의 black dog. 절로 어깨가 들썩거려지는 신나는 rock and roll. 몽환적이면서 포크냄새 물씬 풍기는 going to california... 그러나 역시 최고의 대곡 stairway to heaven은 8분동안 천국에 갔다가 떨어지는것 같은 짜릿함을 경험하게 해준다.

My 79th most played album. Led Zeppelin - 4 AKA. as ZOSO. I got sick of Stairway to heaven so I play this one less but it still rocks. This is the 9th most sold album of all time 29 million certified 37 million claimed sold.

하드락 불후의 명반

불후의 명작 이거 한마디로 정리가능

표절 문제가 있지만, 록음악사에 길이 남을 기념비적인 작품임에는 분명합니다. 기타리스트라면 누구나 한번쯤 연주해보는 교과서적 곡들을 냈다는 점이 대단하네요. 불꽃같은 리프의 초반트랙들에 비해 후반부는 이들 특유의 포크음악 일변도로 그다지 재미없습니다. 대표적 레스폴 유저인 지미 페이지가 본작은 텔레캐스터로 레코딩했다는것이 흥미롭습니다.

시대를 앞서간 음악 스타일, 카리스마 넘치는 보컬 스타일, 사이키델릭한 기타 사운드, 한장의 앨범에 여러가지 색깔을 모두 담아낸 작품. 많은 사람들이 명반이라고 하는 이유가 분명 있을 것이다. 그러나 아직 나에게는 그 뭔가가 느껴지지 않는 것 같다.

일단 기독교인인 나로썬 종교적인 것을 배제하고 봐야한다. 다들 그렇게 해야한다 노래는 노래로써..(Crimson Moonlight의 명언 참조) 이 앨범은 엄청난 커버를 만들었고 그중에 어떤건 유명하기까지... 그만큼 이앨범이 얼마나 명반인지를 보여준다.

100점은 이런 앨범에나 어울리는 점수이다. 70년대초에 발매됐음에도 현대기준으로도 이것은 사기에 가까운 음악이다. 흥겨움, 서정성, 우울함, 인생사 모두가 내포된 그야말로 한권의 자전적인 작품이다.

A good hard rock album for it's age. Nothing more though.
