One of my favourite 'space or aliens-themed' metal albums. I had to repurchase this CD in 2019 because I lost the original version of it issued in 2004 as I moved out. If there is anyone who wants to purchase this album in the future, please stick to the original CD released in 2004. The reason is that the artwork of the 2019 reissue is blurry compared to the 2004 original. There is no difference between these two when it comes to mixing and mastering quality.
By the way, I love Hypocrisy's simple and melodic way to describe the encounter with aliens.

I have never fancied coloured vinyl. I have always been in favour of traditional black vinyl based on the two reasons. Firstly, black is my favourite colour. Secondly and lastly, I still do not trust the stability and fidelity of coloured vinyl to play music even though the technologies regarding manufacturing vinyl have developed over time. The sound quality of the original master tapes of this album is roughly mixed and mastered anyway. So I have decided to purchase something fancy this time.

All the records with Steven Wilson's touch for mixing and mastering sound phenomenal. Of course, I am not saying that vinyl can surpass CD and Hi-Res digital formats when it comes to sound quality. Scientifically speaking, CD and Hi-Res digital formats always sound better and have more accurate musical expression than vinyl in terms of the way that musicians would want their fans to listen to their music.

2020 Remastered / Remixed Edition.
I have no idea what the original (the first pressing) copy of vinyl would sound like because I have never tried that one. But this 2020 remastered and remixed version sounds nice without any noticeable defects.
