언제나 수준 높은 양질의 음악을 들려주는 Moonspell.
이 앨범에서는 특히 웅장한 분위기가 두드러짐.
또한, 다른 앨범들이 고딕/프로그레시브메탈 사운드를 들려준 반면, 본작은 상당히 정통 헤비메탈/스레쉬메탈에 가까움.
밴드 스스로는 이 앨범에 영향을 준 밴드로 'Bathory + King Diamond + Onslaught + 초기 Metallica + Testament + Artillery'를 꼽았는데,
개인적으로는 앨범 커버도 그렇고, 보컬만 빼면 Septicflesh와 비슷한 느낌을 주는 곡들이 꽤 있음.
반면 더블앨범 중 2번째 CD인 'Omega White'는 기존과 비슷한 고딕/프로그레시브 메탈을 들려줌.
Omega White는 지루한 감이 있어서 Alpha Noir 쪽이 훨씬 좋음.

Moonspell sa s novinkou "Hermitage" posunuli viac k jemnejším prvkom a k atmosférickému vyjadreniu. Štýlovo sa jedná o Atmosférický Gothic Metal / Rock. Je to odlišné od posledných albumov, výraznú úlohu dostáva Fernando -v hlas, ktorý je dosť v popredí (hlavne po zvukovej stránke).
