novinka "Survival of the Sickest" od švédskych Death Metal -ových veteránov Bloodbath (teda mimo speváka, ktorý je rodený Angličan) je nahrávka plná kvalitných, ťažkých a často sa meniacich riffov, gitarového pískania, ťažkotonážnych vyhrávok a chaotických, prípadne vlečivých sól. Klobúk dole pred gitaristami Jonas Renkse (Katatonia, ex-October Tide) a Tomas Åkvik (Nale, Lik, ex-Chaosys). Je to určite ich najlepšia nahrávka s Nick -om Holmes -om za mikrofónom a jedna z najlepších v ich diskografii. Holmes (inak samozrejme Paradise Lost) predvádza asi najlepší growling vo svojej kariére a výborne pasuje k riffom a hudbe na albume. Ďalším výrazným prvkom sú tvrdé, ale zároveň aj pestré bicie. Martin Axenrot (ex-Opeth, ex-Witchery) predvádza, že je naďalej technicky zdatným bicmenom. Zostavu uzatvára Anders Nyström (Katatonia, ex-Diabolical Masquerade, ex-Bewitched), ktorý pekne zhutňuje piesne. Podarené album v štýle OSDM.
Ešte nechcem zabudnúť na hostí na albume: Marc Grewe (ex-Morgoth, ex-Power of Expression, Insidious Disease) v piesni č. 7, Luc Lemay (Gorguts, ex-Negativa) v piesni č. 5, 6) a Mark "Barney" Greenway (Napalm Death, ex-Benediction, ex-Extreme Noise Terror) v piesni č. 2.

I am not huge fan of Old School Death Metal, I prefer more Melodic Death Metal, but this album is great. The music is varied and at the same time so heavy with an excellent flow and a lot of energy.

매우 허접해보이는 커버와는 다르게 잘 만든 Entombed와 Death가 섞인 느낌을 가진 Bloodbath의 2022년작. Nick이 들어온 후 가장 잘 만든 앨범이라고 생각하나 몇몇 곡에서는 뜬금없는 전개가 있어 한 쪽 눈썹을 위로 올라가게 만든다. 선공개곡들보다는 Malignant Maggot Therapy와 Affliction of Extinction를 추천한다
