Beautiful progressive djent. Similar to TesseracT, but no imitating. I really need to listen to this album more. It just makes me want to replay it. End of the year surprise for me. Dec 21, 2023

I remember when Awake was getting airplay. I thought maybe the band was improving, but didn't care too much. Anyway, it's a pretty good song, and this album as a whole is more listenable than the self-titled. However, I think every song is weaker than Awake, and they're all so similar in tone, structure, and message. Some people don't know the meaning of variety. Dec 21, 2023

I can imagine people playing the RPG to this. Rather good album. Dec 21, 2023

Very good EP. Similar in style to Plague, and almost as good. Dec 21, 2023

Beautiful mix of post-hardcore and post-metal. There is such nice sadness in the guitarwork. Harsh & clean vocals both work well. Totally solid record. Dec 21, 2023

So often I need to thank Blayne from Banger TV. This blackened sludge really comes from a visceral place and what stays with me the most is the inner power inherent in the sound, and that's definitely a counterpoint to the message as you can gather from that truly excellent album cover. Thank you Crust. Dec 19, 2023

Those vibrations from another dimension like only Escoctrilihum gives us. This album is very enjoyable. There was a fade-out I didn't like, and maybe a couple other of minor shortcomings, but it's still very good music from a prolific and dependable artist. Dec 19, 2023

This album really astounded me today. The industrial riffs fight to be heard through the dystopian cacophony, and the result is they are even more energizing. I hear some people say this album is challenging for the listener, and it is to some extent, but there are plenty of gratifying moments and adventurous feelings as well, so I just think of it as great all around. Also, it's named after Norway's busiest airport, right? Dec 19, 2023

Yet another project with Déhà as a member. He's known for funeral doom, and this album is a wonderful example of that. 2023 had some great funeral doom releases, and now we have 1 more excellent one to add to the harvest. Powerful melodies, thick & meaty sound, the ambient element works very well, and the atmosphere is colossal. Dec 19, 2023

This album deserves all it's accolades, especially in how it contributed to the alternative movement. I give it a 90/100 because some songs are just a bit less powerful than most of the album, but nothing feels particularly flawed to me. An essential listen. Dec 18, 2023

All the fun of making your granny worry about you. In other words, it sounds like the album cover. Also, it sounds less like a first full-length, and more like a veteran band, but that's just my opinion. Dec 18, 2023

I liked the 2018 album a lot more, but I'm still highly interested in this artist now. Dec 18, 2023

The intense darkness and maxed-out adrenaline levels through the medium of symphonic BM was just a wonderful start to a day of great music for me. Dec 18, 2023

Great hardcore with the true punk spirit. All the thrashy riffing that shows up is really infectious too. Dec 18, 2023

The dark tone this whole album takes is wonderful. A nice long album, and I keep re-listening to it. This is a good sign. Dec 15, 2023

Like Limp Bizkit without the cringiness. I don't like the moments where they just shift into famous songs like that Notorious B.I.G. one. I'm not so into hearing all the swears & N-words. Nothing else is negative though. I hear a lot of genuine passion, easily from the vocalist, but I think from the other members as well. A pretty positive experience for me. Dec 15, 2023

I heard system_failure on the radio, and it piqued my interest. Some aspects of this album are inconsistent, like the lyrics and singing melodies. Some songs are kind of lame and forced, but most are good and a few are really powerful. Some really heavy moments are pretty amazing, even for a guy like me who doesn't favor metalcore. Overall, pretty good. Dec 15, 2023

Oh hell yeah. This one really brought a smile to my face. Should I apologize to Beelzebub or someone for being too cheerful? Anyway, the frequently tolling bell and the grainy distortion are extremely nice together. It's also one way to stand out in a crowded genre. Dec 15, 2023

OK, zero metal on this album. I guess it's neoclassical darkwave and ambient. I don't know why it wouldn't be called opera and classical. Anyway, I could feel the musical merit in it despite being a metalhead. It was actually quite stunning for me. Dec 15, 2023

I think this band deserves it's legend status, but this album for me is good - not great. Dec 15, 2023

Too much intro for just an EP, but it still has some really nice music. Will check out more by Demoncy. Dec 15, 2023

Even if this project is inspired by cringe-tier conspiracy theories, the music is absolutely wonderful. The recording is done in just the right way that makes this sub-genre really exhilarating. Cool use of a grimoire demon in the theme & album cover. I'll take that to mean that natural herbs are superior to pharmaceuticals and don't really care if that's not what the band thinks. Pretty good, and slightly better than their 2023 album. Though the music is good, the content of the cover art is not cool. Dec 15, 2023

Ouch, this was painful. Good parts first - tracks 3 & 8 are pretty good, and track 9 was amusing for just the first time (meaning 'not again, please'). The rest of the album is dominated by sappy songs trying to be sentimental but they're so fake. Worst is that it's a lot of 'boohoo my girlfriend' garbage. All that fake heartfelt posturing doesn't match well with the NSFW bad-boy lyrics & attitude. Overall, failure. Dec 15, 2023

Yet again I learn about another black metal band that just gets everything right. Straight BM, and it's definitely old school. Recommended. Dec 15, 2023

Essentially death metal but there is a vein of doom throughout. I really loved it. It's not a long album, but it feels like an epic journey. Great theme, great style, great execution, great album cover, great everything. Dec 15, 2023
Cosmicism 100/100
The drumming alone could be enough for a 100/100, but everything else also shows exactly why black metal can be so captivating. The eerie atmosphere, the passion in the vocals, the heavy yet soothing effect of the long songs, and the action-packed composition are all absolute top tier. Late addition to 2023 that goes very high near the top of the pile. Dec 15, 2023

The songs put me in a good mood, and the last track closes the album excellently. Some of the vocal high notes are painful but, beside that, it was a great listen. Dec 12, 2023

Nov 4, 2024

Their most representative album of the eighties, full of innovation and class, with forceful themes and a benchmark in style for the hard rock genre, in fact it is their best-selling work to date! My personal precise rating is (94/100) Faves: Criyng In The Rain and Don´t Turn Away! Oct 30, 2024

완벽하다. 지금와서 painkiller 정도의 힘을 기대하는 것은 무리지만 관록과 경험으로 영그러진 놀라운 앨범을 냈다. 엔지니어링도 크게 한몫했다. Oct 31, 2024
