Power of the Dragonflame으로 에메랄드 소드 이야기를 지은 Rhapsody는 그동안 발표했던 앨범들을 정리하는 차원에서 베스트 앨범을 발표했다. 그러나 Rhapsody 같이 Epic Metal을 지향하는 밴드의 베스트 앨범은 그다지 매력이 없다. 일단 정규 앨범에서 뚜렷한 이야기를 유기적으로 엮어냈던 곡들은 토막나면서 그 찬란한 매력이 크게 반감되었다. Emerald Sword나 Dawn of Victory, Knightrider of Doom처럼 그 자체로 발광하는 곡들도 실려있지만, 이 곡들의 진정한 가치는 각각의 앨범 속에 자리잡을 때에야 드러난다. 이렇게 흩어져서는 Rhapsody의 매력을 느끼기는 어렵다. 게다가 이 앨범에 실린 곡들은 원곡을 수정하고 재녹음한 버전을 실어놨다. 왜 이런 짓을 저질렀는지 이해하기 힘들다. Rhapsody의 작품은 첫 작품인 Legendary Tales부터 사운드 부분은 완벽했다. 더 손댈 구석이 없었던 명품 사운드였다. 데뷔 앨범부터 Power of the Dragonflame까지 Rhapsody는 어떠한 Melodic Power Metal 밴드들보다 사운드 면에서는 언제나 우월한 면모를 과시해왔다. 그렇기에 이 베스트 앨범은 이해할 수가 없다. 원곡을 재해석했는지 모르겠지만, 밴드의 작품을 처음부터 들었던 리스너 입장에서는 이는 명백하게 원곡의 훼손이다. 리믹스된 곡들은 상향되었다기보다는 뚜렷이 하향되 ... 초심자들에게 랩소디 입문용으로는 괜찮은 작품이다. 엘가로드 연대기 1부의 주옥같은 명곡들이 빠짐없이 수록되어 있다. 물론 랩소디의 진가는 앨범의 서사적 구성에서 나오기에, 어느 정도 지나면 더 이상 듣지 않는 작품 신세가 되지만...
