American Music Awards에서 Aerosmith의 "Pump"를 누르고 '최우수 헤비메탈 앨범'을 차지한 작품으로, Mötley Crüe 사상 최고의 판매고를 기록한 히트작이다. 초기의 다듬어지지 않은 막가는 듯한 이들의 음악도 시간이 흐르면서 세련미가 더해져 완숙한 연주력을 뽐내게 되었다. Tommy Lee의 드러밍이야 메탈계에서 손꼽을 만한 수준의 것으로 평가되고 있고, 다른 파트들의 연주도 돋보이는 수준이다. Bob Rock의 프로듀싱으로 완성된 앨범으로 "Dr. Feelgood"과 "Without You"의 Top 10 히트를 비롯해 빌보드 싱글차트에 4곡을 진입시키며 전성기를 맞이하였다.

머틀리 크루는 내 취향에는 참 안 맞는 밴드이다.
개인적으로 팝 메탈,글램 메탈, LA 메탈 - 헤어 메탈도 좋아라 하지만, 머틀리 크루 1집부터 들어봐도 내 취향은 확실히 아니다.
