I really love this one - almost as much as Coffin Nail's The Hanged Man. Infernal Curse's playing is great, and the recording is wonderful. The end result is a feeling of endless stone-block halls in darkness underground with clanging on metal coming from an unknown direction - a scene that lasts for eternity. Great work. Feb 20, 2024

Good war metal by Disimperium here. Feb 20, 2024

Good war metal on this one. I like how the album art engages the war-metal formula but goes in its own direction just a little. I'm not a fan of the logo. Musically, nothing seems like a flaw; I'll just look forward to a future album like this but with some leveling up. Feb 20, 2024

1st of all, you need patience for this music; that's a warning. If you're strapped in, then I think you'll receive the same huge payoffs I did. This is a wonderful mix of sub-genres with an intriguing linguistic policy. Since I heard this album, their discography is looking mighty beastly. Feb 20, 2024

I tried a lot of recent war metal last week, and this one was my favorite. Nice and dark. It might be a skosh more on the deathgrind side, but it's great combination either way. The sax that shows up is a sample, and I don't know if that's a turn off for you. All things considered, it's morose, depraved, nightmarish, & obnoxious. Enticing? Feb 20, 2024

Some say this is the best doomgaze out there, and I can understand why they say this. It's quite an astounding album, with emotions so strong, deep, & complex. Drone metal segments also have percussion, so it might interest some people who don't try much drone. Anyway, this husband-&-wife duo is no longer with us, and that makes this recording even more special. I'll never forget this one. Feb 20, 2024

War metal, pagan metal, & dark folk; I had no idea these very different genres would ever come together so perfectly. This album is a very perfomative recording, as in I can picture musicians playing this right at the moment I'm hearing it. Also, this is really distinct even within the sea of uncounted underground releases. Recommended for weirdos like me. Feb 15, 2024

Some very Summoning melodies on this one. Good, but he has better albums. Feb 15, 2024

For me the whole thing is good but not great. I'm glad that Death went on to improve on all fronts. Feb 15, 2024

So it turns out that atmospheric black metal has enough room in its wide open soundscapes to fit a load of Pink Floyd influence. These classic rock guitar solos that chill you out complement some extreme blackened melancholy. Rich in feeling and played with éclat. My pick of the day. Feb 15, 2024

Some great songs here, and Chris brings it into gospel territory at times. Besides that, it's also very bluesy. The famous track 3 is probably the best in my opinion, but nothing is filler here, so it's easy to recommend. Feb 15, 2024

Some Tool influence here, and a member of Tool as a guest musician. If those facts sound like an extremely good omen to you, you'll enjoy this as much as I did. Feb 15, 2024

Such a wonderful album, and don't get me started on the cover art. Choosing to listen to drone metal is like choosing to jump into cold water. It's going to be a thrill, but you have to psych yourself up. This is why the genre is so niche. Just jump in! Feb 13, 2024

Pretty good, and the trance has such a nice freshening effect as usual. However, I can't help but think the metalcore aspect is just holding them back, like if they base the metal parts on plain metal instead then the songwriting can get a lot better. Maybe I'm biased, but maybe I'm just 100% right too. Feb 13, 2024

All those people from the 1600s or whatever trying to make our societies' music obligatorily promote religious institutions, didn't they know this would be the inevitable result following the laws of physics? Oh well. Everything went more blasphemous than expected. Feb 13, 2024

I can hear they were already completely weird back in 2014, but this doesn't compare to the massive impact Hive Mind Narcosis provides. Feb 13, 2024

Beautiful funeral doom, and I can't stop looking at that cover art. Feb 13, 2024

I absolutely love this album! All kinds of technical and progressive and every instrument is top-notch. His 2022 album felt like a bizarre highlight of the year, but this one is one of the heavyweights of 2023. My pick of the week without a doubt. Feb 12, 2024

With that album cover, I absolutely did not expect this kind of insane blackened death metal with some symphonic parts & dissonant compositions. Very very good. Feb 12, 2024

Some songs on the 1st half had me afraid Infected Rain was declining, but some later songs made it worth my while, especially track 6. Death Dealer Union's recent debut, which has the same vocalist, is better in my opinion. This Infected Rain album, all in all, is uneven but pretty good. Feb 12, 2024

The instruments are absolutely excellent, and the ominous aura is just so powerful. The vocals do decrease my score quite a bit; it's hard to take them seriously. Attila improved on later releases, and though this album was a huge moment in black metal history it's just a little overrated. Still a great listen though. Feb 12, 2024

For me this just okay. Also, there is very little black metal on this. Mostly it's folk metal & dungeon synth. The most black metal track is Home of the Dead, which is a mix of Summoning song and a Sojourner song, and this is also the best part. Feb 12, 2024

Fuzzy in a Paysage d'Hiver kind of way, but there are some very nice & aggressive first wave BM parts to bob your head too. All in the midst of epic yet vicious atmosphere building up for those 3 long tracks. Damián has been releasing so much inspired music lately that it's hard to keep up. Feb 12, 2024
Cosmicism 70/100
Overall it's okay despite some painful slow songs with very lame clean vocals. Fortunately, the vocalist is better at screaming & rapping, and the funkiness is pretty good. Feb 12, 2024
Cosmicism 75/100
I don't find the songwriting very good on this album, but it's easy to hear they're a fully capable band. I hope their earlier work is less forced and more to the point. Feb 12, 2024

Nov 4, 2024

Their most representative album of the eighties, full of innovation and class, with forceful themes and a benchmark in style for the hard rock genre, in fact it is their best-selling work to date! My personal precise rating is (94/100) Faves: Criyng In The Rain and Don´t Turn Away! Oct 30, 2024

완벽하다. 지금와서 painkiller 정도의 힘을 기대하는 것은 무리지만 관록과 경험으로 영그러진 놀라운 앨범을 냈다. 엔지니어링도 크게 한몫했다. Oct 31, 2024
