My pick of the day. One of my favorite death metal bands providing exactly what I hoped they would. Progressive intricacy and pounding tech death. Great album length with no filler. The cover art is pretty cool and is the exact feeling I get from the music. Jan 29, 2024

Very good crust punk that sounds exactly like the working class not taking any garbage & repression. The death metal layer to the music sounds exactly like that album cover. If those 2 points sound good to you you'll like this as much as I did. Jan 29, 2024

I did a crust punk Thursday, and this wonderfully post-apocalyptic feeling album was the best part of the day. Yes it's very punky, but the metal elements melt down death metal & thrash until they also become a bit heavy metal. Definitely a gem of an album. Jan 29, 2024

Very good black metal on this album, and the songs really focus on the black metal side with just a little room for the other elements. Jan 29, 2024

So I'm learning crust punk can get really heavy. Rate Your Music is krazy about this album and, yeah, it's really good. It's also sludge, but I love the underground lo fi punk scene feelings that come from this. Jan 29, 2024

I loved Edge of the Earth, and the airy & dreamy post-metal guitar parts on this album are great. Some parts I find kind of mediocre. Unfortunately some phony tough guy vocal parts here & there had me facepalming. This release is a mix of negative & positive for me, but still slightly on the positive side. Jan 29, 2024

I had a djent & math Wednesday, and this was the day's highest point. Also, what the heck happened to all these members since 2011? Anyway, I keep coming back to this album - it has an eclectic mix that works beautifully and feels like a perfect natural match. I even found myself loving the jazz. Everything feels expertly played and evocative. Great work. Jan 29, 2024

This is so dense, it's a bit of a challenge... in a good way. I'll need to listen many more times to repair the scrambling of my brain. The instrumentation is insane. Respect for this virtuoso band and their possibly untranslatable track titles. Jan 24, 2024

Good mood, excellent D.I.Y. album cover. Good energy and playing. Jan 24, 2024

Holy cow! (Get it? Get it?) I like this one even more than Monolith of Inhumanity. My favorite of this deathgrind Tuesday. Jan 24, 2024

I'm growing to love albums that combine war metal and deathgrind. So this is music like Infernal Coil but it achieves a much different effect. I really liked the whole thing. There are some 1st class head-bopping parts. Also, just wondering if the band actually thinks NYC is so dystopian at time of release... maybe it's intended for reminiscing about previous decades... just wondering. Jan 24, 2024

Super early years of deathgrind, so I started my deathgrind Tuesday with it. This was an excellent choice. I was hoping to like it, but even so the quality of this album surprised me. Maybe it's well known that Terrorizer is a band to come to for great drumming... and now I know it too. I'm not surprised there's a band named after track 11. Jan 24, 2024

Can someone please give out awards for band names? Anyway, this is raving mad music, and I can tell it's crafted just to drive people in a club into a sweaty frenzy. Also, I like this even more than baby shark. EVEN MORE!!!111oneone Jan 24, 2024

There are some great polar opposite vibes that this album switches between (meaning there are savage freakouts and there are sentimental parts as well). Sass might be unknown to a lot of us, so I'm glad to recommend this one, even though I'm in it for the cybergrind. Jan 24, 2024

My favorite discovery from my cybergrind Monday. This gets my blood pumping. A bit of oldschool industrial influence shows up a couple of times, and it just makes it an even richer album. I'm eager to get deeper into Drumcorps's discography soon. Jan 24, 2024

I really admire this artist's ethos of pay-what-you-want releases. This album is short, sweet, and it scrambles your brain in the best of ways. Jan 24, 2024

I started my cybergrind Monday in style with a great album by Genghis Tron. I like this one slightly more than Dream Weapon. Board Up the House does make some pronounced shifts between those genres, keeping it interesting yet cohesive with a well-chosen track order. Also, it's mostly very harsh & heavy. Metalheads, give it a try. Jan 24, 2024

The perfect album cover! Also the skeleton delivers some captivating melodies on that accordion. The songwriting is a great example of being just long enough; they all build up emotion increasingly and deliver very emotional releases by their end, even if the melodic structure might be simple. Then they all end at the perfect moment. Also, just learn Cyrillic OK? Jan 24, 2024

Squeaky cute vocals followed by death growls? Somehow Violet Cold makes things like this work, and this album is full of interesting highlights & intense emotions. It was also fantastic for a sunny frozen walk today. Jan 22, 2024

Well, the title makes sense, but the music is so focused on heaviness that son structure and musical ideas feel omitted. OK, I was laughing during Satan's Ice Cream Truck, but as a whole it's just a so-so release. Jan 22, 2024

Excellent melancholic melodies throughout this powerful record. The vocalist often switches into this defiant tone that adds great variety and helps give the album form and the sense of a plotline. I loved the whole thing. Jan 22, 2024

Cool new artist. It feels like he's just starting out, which is probably the plain truth. This album starts off so-so but gets better and better. The brooding mood and feeling of destroyed surroundings grow pretty strong. Jan 22, 2024

I knew these guys were famous, and now I know what they sound like. Pretty good to my ear. I can tell they have tons of ardent fans. Maybe with a different album I'll be able to hear what they hear. Jan 22, 2024

I keep playing this short-but-sweet album, and keep liking it more & more, maybe even more than Solar Soul. Nice use of symphonic elements. Also, I didn't know they went industrial this early. Excellent music. Jan 22, 2024

Overflowing with passion. I do wish the vocals had more variety, but the whole album still slaps. I also recommend seeking out the live bonus track. Jan 19, 2024

Nov 4, 2024

Their most representative album of the eighties, full of innovation and class, with forceful themes and a benchmark in style for the hard rock genre, in fact it is their best-selling work to date! My personal precise rating is (94/100) Faves: Criyng In The Rain and Don´t Turn Away! Oct 30, 2024

완벽하다. 지금와서 painkiller 정도의 힘을 기대하는 것은 무리지만 관록과 경험으로 영그러진 놀라운 앨범을 냈다. 엔지니어링도 크게 한몫했다. Oct 31, 2024
