Overall positive, and I like how they stay true to the hardcore punk that metalcore is supposed to be influenced by. I was expecting much worse music, and I was glad to be wrong. The only weak point I can think of is that every song has the same aggressive energy, and that some variety could make it better. Dec 12, 2023

The heaviness really astounded me. It also switches between many styles, but it always feels natural. The 1st Wave BM riffs were an especially enjoyable treat. Dec 12, 2023

Their 2023 album is much better, but everything about this one is positive too. Well played. Also there is a passage of death metal for variety. I'm glad I gave it a try. Dec 12, 2023

Interesting style from these guys, and I really get into it. The vocal style might be divisive for metalheads. Dec 10, 2023

Am I going to be apprehended by some elite task force for listening to this without drinking a bottle of bourbon? Dec 10, 2023

The best thing I've heard in days. They really make the kick drums the focus of their compositions, and the result is some massively heavy music. I really need to catch up with this band now. Dec 10, 2023

Another good deathgrind album from Misery Index. They always inject feeling into the songs through their timing & energy. Most of their albums are better than this, but it's still solid to me. Dec 10, 2023

Track 3 is completely filler & weak. If you see a 9-minute bonus track on the end, just skip that one too. The rest fun, full of passion, and actually infectious. When there's a whole band showing synergy, Otep's charisma results in exciting music. Dec 10, 2023

An amazing start from one of my favorite tech death bands. I also love how the cover art is atypical for the sub-genre. Dec 10, 2023

Some nice variety here, including switching into depressive for a moment. I liked Part 1 more, but I'm still immensely glad to here this one. Dec 10, 2023

A very good BM album by the vocalist of Ofnus. Dec 10, 2023

I like everything except the first song. Richard's vocal ability is OK, and he gets even more out of it than your average singer through a repertoire of techniques, and it all helps the songs' power. Track 10 has an intensely sad melody and intensely sad lyrics. Despite being 'the slow song' it's actually fantastic. Dec 10, 2023

There are a bunch of 'hell yeah' epic moments on this album. Just keep in mind that there's a lot of dungeon synth on this one. Dec 5, 2023

Every member shines, the lyrics are fun, and the riffs are so cool. These musicians deserve their legendary status. Dec 5, 2023

I thoroughly enjoyed this album, but the band got better in mid career. Dec 5, 2023

Good to find out that this album is mostly good songs. I knew this release was a big commercial endeavor, but props to Stabbing Westward and everyone involved for keeping it real. That running time looks too long, and it's some of the songs in the middle that should have been cut in my opinion (especially the slower ones). Save Yourself is quite wonderful. All in all, worth giving it a try. Dec 5, 2023

Great album cover with great music inside. I especially love the head-bopping rabble-rousing aspect of the music. So good all around that I even love the logo. I need to start listening to these guys more. Dec 2, 2023

Good war metal for satisfying your need for heaviness here. It doesn't have the captivating melodies of other war metal bands such as Archgoat, but it's still enjoyable. Dec 2, 2023

Even with this early Sadness album, I can hear how Damián had a vision for great music, but on this one the instrumentation feels clumsy and lacks the usual energy. Later releases get so much better. Dec 2, 2023

It gets into a really nice groove and the main melody is extremely catchy. I was really enjoying it, but it just repeats & repeats for way too long, and the outro is unnecessary and tests my patience. After taking some points off for these flaws, it's still okay. Dec 2, 2023

Extremely cathartic music from Panopticon. So close to giving it a perfect score. I'm thinking it his 2nd best so far. 1 hour & 15 minutes went by quickly. Definitely my pick of the day. Dec 2, 2023

The ferocity pierces right into my chest when I listen to this one. Trhä is searching for strange new sonic worlds. This EP feels like a festive celebration on some alien planet where the creatures express holiday spirit with frantic fury. The clean outro is a great addition too. Great work by Damián. Dec 2, 2023

Just 16 minutes, but this is one of the best release I've heard from them. On top of that, the theme running through their album covers and lyrical content really gives me respect for these guys. Dec 1, 2023

I understand what SilentScream213 is saying in his review, but I just love this insane drumming so much in the forefront in the mix. The rapid fury and density of grindcore is not always my jam, but I feel different about this one. Then again, when it's deathgrind I tend to like it more often, so maybe it's also my quirk, but this is intense and enjoyable music. Dec 1, 2023

These guys surely have their own style. It took me some minutes to realize what kinds of metal I was hearing. This is all played very well, and I loved the feeling of adventure. I also bet many bands are jealous of the band name. Dec 1, 2023

That album title and cover art are in the best of taste. The vocals are deeper and more gruff than you'll be expecting, but with this album, Zannibal has created a very unique blend of influences, making this black metal stick out from other albums as much as that album cover does. It's also always nice to see albums actually be about something. Well rounded and good throughout. Dec 1, 2023

Holy &%@#*, that passion coming from all the instruments and the raging vocals. The melodies are captivating as can be. What a top-tier band. Dec 1, 2023

Nov 4, 2024

Their most representative album of the eighties, full of innovation and class, with forceful themes and a benchmark in style for the hard rock genre, in fact it is their best-selling work to date! My personal precise rating is (94/100) Faves: Criyng In The Rain and Don´t Turn Away! Oct 30, 2024

완벽하다. 지금와서 painkiller 정도의 힘을 기대하는 것은 무리지만 관록과 경험으로 영그러진 놀라운 앨범을 냈다. 엔지니어링도 크게 한몫했다. Oct 31, 2024
