I find all the songs well written, but most of the vocals don't have the passion and attention to delivery that could make this a very good album. It's a shame really; I think they should have gone back to the studio to try some more takes. Keepers of the Garden and Hollow Earth were highlights for me. Feb 7, 2023

My pick of the day! This time, Almach really focuses on the folk aspect, making metal secondary for a lot of the tracks. I'm guessing this folk is Afghan music. Anyway, the effect is very energizing. Highly recommended. Feb 7, 2023

The first half of the album was lackluster for me; I didn't like much of the vocals and the songwriting didn't make much of a point. It improves on the second half a lot. This album has some atmospheric BM on it, but a lot of the time it feels more like general metal, while being pretty dark. Feb 7, 2023

I listened to this 31-minute EP and thought, "Damn, don't end." For some people this one will be too busy and full of intricacy, but I loved every second of it. Feb 7, 2023

These guys have been around a long time, and this brings quality control throughout the whole solid album. The evil and danger cut right into the listener. Very good. Feb 6, 2023

The whole room fills with mystical atmosphere, premonitions of evil, and the sensation of being in the midst of a dramatic & fateful story when this album is playing. The mood setting before the main songs does take a while and some people might not have enough patience for this, but I loved the whole thing. The phin combining with black metal is so perfect. Unforgettable album! Feb 6, 2023

Great playing and it's very soulful as usual from this awesome band. Feb 6, 2023

I like the guitarwork. There's a great variety of vocals on this one, maybe multiple members of the band are singing. Some of the vocals are good, but there are some I really don't like. Overall, pretty good. Feb 6, 2023

Very good hard rock with some punk blended in. This formula works very well and I find the songs ranging from okay to good to very good. Scott Weiland does a great job of not hogging the spotlight; his vocals mostly serve the other instruments because of his timing and expert control of mood, like a total pro actor. Of course the instrumentation is very good. I expected a good album, and it's a very good album. Feb 4, 2023

I totally loved this one. I'd say Riot City's album is a skosh better for the heavy metal album of 2022, but it's a small gap. There is fantastic shredding and singing that gets my blood pumping. Also, this is members of Eternal Champion and Dream Unending. Feb 4, 2023

The singer mostly fails on this album and he really annoys me. I hear a couple of cool growls but, mostly, he's stuck on the same note 95% of the time and if we're lucky enough that he changes notes it's a tiny change. All these "heavy" breakdowns sound like the guitarists are missing most of their teeth and are standing there laughing at farts while playing slowly. Also, all the swearing on the album is comical, but it's so pathetic the band think they're extreme. Bad. Feb 4, 2023

Quite the amazing album. For me, almost as good as Bloody Kisses. The songs feel very deep on this one. Peter's pitch black voice and Kenny's lightning-bolt guitar tone are the biggest feast for the ears that has ever existed. Peter, we all miss you. Feb 3, 2023

I expected excellence & powerful shining passion because it's Déhà, but I didn't know this album was going to be so gothic rock. I started checking if these were Joy Division covers or something. Anyway it's mostly original with one Sedativ cover, and I love the whole album. Just fantastic. Feb 3, 2023

Yes there's a lot of groovy peaceful psychedelic parts, but some very mean & distorted parts strike a great balance. Well played and full of attitude. Very good instrumental album. Feb 3, 2023

Very interesting compilation with some variety and a quality album cover. There's some rather raw parts, but mostly it's melodic BM with some symphonic and a playful europop surprise. Enjoyable! Feb 3, 2023

This album starts off very promising. Some problems I encountered include noncommittal stopping & starting and some parts that feel too repetitive. The depressive mood is very nice though. Considering this is their first release, I have a very strong hunch I'll like their later work much better. Feb 3, 2023

Demonic & feverish performance here, with great tension between the riffing and the drum beats. Totally obvious somebody has a complete grasp on how timing can make music into an intense emotional experience. Poland's chasm of blackened souls gets deeper & more crowded yet again. Feb 3, 2023

I was already a big fan of their song 7 Words, and when Around the Fur was released I learned for sure that this was a great band. That's when the video for My Own Summer debuted on 120 Minutes. Feb 3, 2023

Reviving your former band after 27 years? That's really commendable. I really enjoyed this one, but they do rip off a couple of famous Metallica riffs. Totally unnecessary; they could've just replaced them with any other guitarwork because the album didn't hinge on those riffs. Oh well, besides that point, it's all good. Feb 1, 2023

I really loved the guitar sound, and there are some top-tier choruses. I really respect these guys for not turning phony and thinking only about money; it's totally clear they were focused on the music. Feb 1, 2023

Solid black metal album from the new one-man-band from the same guy as Draug. Feb 1, 2023

Tons of energy. I'm still trying to figure out war metal, but it's obvious this is good stuff. Also, The guy from Spectral Wound is in this band, which makes me respect him even more. Feb 1, 2023

Warning: this is a nazi band. It's sad to learn that because this album is very well written and played. The songs are truly melodious while still heavy, and the upbeat pagan feelings with some atmospheric tendencies are a great combination. While staying vigilant through law enforcement, maybe showing racist people an alternative peaceful mindset can help our societies. Feb 1, 2023

I really like the 1st track, but the second one is a sloppy slobbering drunken mess of aimless sounds. The 3rd one is medium. I hear how influential the better parts on this EP are, but this dirty murderer is nowhere near as creative as Euronymous was. I think it's time for people to stop pretending Burzum was such a great but scandalously evil artist. His better albums are about half good. Feb 1, 2023

The songwriting feels like it's telling a story, so it's perfect for this concept album. Rather nightmarish with some great melodies in the chorus. Feb 1, 2023

Nov 4, 2024

Their most representative album of the eighties, full of innovation and class, with forceful themes and a benchmark in style for the hard rock genre, in fact it is their best-selling work to date! My personal precise rating is (94/100) Faves: Criyng In The Rain and Don´t Turn Away! Oct 30, 2024

완벽하다. 지금와서 painkiller 정도의 힘을 기대하는 것은 무리지만 관록과 경험으로 영그러진 놀라운 앨범을 냈다. 엔지니어링도 크게 한몫했다. Oct 31, 2024
