Nice evil riffing go add variety to the atmospheric astral projecting feeling parts. I liked IV substantially more, but it's still all good. Jan 7, 2023

My pick of the day. It's amazingly cathartic even when it phases into its most brutal moments. It's interesting how a black metal band can be this brutal without sounding anything like death metal. The sound is really nature-worship but it's their own unique version of it. Yes it's original and it feels really majestic. The album ended before I realized it was a long album with track lengths longer than 15 minutes. Jan 6, 2023

Very grim, foreboding, & evil feelings fill this album. The guitarwork is very good and gets more interesting the closer you pay attention to it. Extremely extreme extreme metal here. The album cover is probably giving you the right idea. Jan 6, 2023

The most impressive thing for me is the songwriting is at such a high level this early for these guys. I didn't really like the last song, and some other moments felt a little weak. I know many people like this era more than the Alissa years, but I think her singing clearly beats Johan's, so I can imagine this album being even better. Overall it's a good album. Jan 6, 2023

This is a great album for this artist to start with. I really enjoyed the whole thing, though most songs aren't particularly ambitious; they're mostly just extremely fun. There are some fade-outs that weaken the compositions, and the first track did kinda nothing for me. Also, be forewarned that this is very very lo-fi. Jan 6, 2023

Especially in the first half, it's a lot less industrial than I imagined. I can see how these early Fear Factory albums are influential, but thought it was going to be really top quality, which it wasn't for me. The vocals are a bit of a weak point, and it's a mix of very good to so-so compositions. In the end, it's still a good album. Jan 6, 2023

I heard something from them a few years ago, and I didn't remember it being this dark and atmospheric. I was really impressed by the grooviness of this album. Awesome guitar-sounds throughout, and it's rather heavy. Jan 6, 2023

I'm so new to war metal. I thought 2 things. 1 : what on earth am I listening to? 2 : these guys sound like total pros in complete control of the feel & flow of this music. It's not my thing, I'm like a tourist here, but energy and emotion this music communicates is intense. Jan 6, 2023

The recording is so great on this one; it's such a satisfying sound. After all these years, these guys have that special energy that's hard to find except for in new bands. Totally solid album, Watain. Jan 6, 2023

Weak, forced, awkward choruses with too much singing, unimaginative songwriting, phony edgy lyrics, and a garbage impression of Jonathan Davis. The cover art is the best part of the album, and the cover art is so-so and immature. Jan 4, 2023

I'll tell you, if you like having that badboy feeling, Municipal Waste can help you in that department. Ideally this album would have some more variety, but I enjoyed every song. At first listen, the title track was the most fun. Jan 4, 2023

Very very cathartic songs fill this album, and are worthy of that perfect cover photo. Impressively, this is a debut. I loved every moment of it. Jan 4, 2023

Only the 2nd day of the year, and Esoctrilihum challenges all bands across the planet to top this pure dead brilliant masterpiece. I listened to it 3 times in a row. I could not love it more. I hear a style somewhat more like his 2021 album with maybe some influence from Saopth's. In other words, atmospheric black death with synth, and sometimes a symphonic feel. Also it's weird & frightening. My pick of the day, and let's see about the year. Jan 4, 2023

Thanks to Daniel Dekay and Banger TV for another recommendation. I enjoyed it and I like the space-exploring theme. I don't understand exactly what speed metal is. It sounds like thrash and heavy metal to me. Everything was good and nothing was bad: it's a solid album in the good range. Jan 3, 2023

Awesome energy on this album, and so far all the best of 2022 list from Daniel Dekay on Banger TV has been high quality, including this one. I read that Midnight is black metal & speed metal, but it sounds very punky to me. Anyway, I loved it even though the sin & debauchery lyrics are totally over the top. Jan 3, 2023

It's aggressive and angry like extreme metal fans tend to like, but it's the foreboding feelings at the end of this EP that inspire me to give it such a high score. Jan 3, 2023

Just 45 minutes, but it feels like it's packed with over an hour of high-energy music. Usually I don't like when the songs are so packed with vocals without much break, but these songs are like that and are still amazing & inspiring. I think they made extra sure that everything sounds good before putting it on this album. Jan 3, 2023

It's cool how these artists from very different sub-genres got together to make such a great album. It feels like bright white fire blowing out of my speakers and burning my face pitch black. Jan 3, 2023

Nice spacey and bizarre feelings to this album. It seems this man is displaced from Ukraine to Poland. I would like to give him a higher score just because of his hardships. Instead I'll look forward to top-tier albums from him in the future. Jan 3, 2023

Very high quality all around. I felt a lot of energy and emotion, and the emotion matches perfectly with that amazing cover artwork. Jan 1, 2023

Fun fun fun fun! The songwriting is more inspired than his 2018 EP. I think B.M. has more good albums under a bunch of old sweaters forgotten in a closet somewhere than most bands have in their entire discography. Jan 1, 2023

The melodies and guitar sound are fantastic on this album, and the angry woman audio clip in the beginning is great for a laugh. I can tolerate this genre of music once or twice a month, but I still can't enjoy this kind of vocals. It is nice how the vocals are at a low volume though. If you like brutal and or slamming, I bet you'll like this. Jan 1, 2023

Wow, another album from this guy this year. I am completely in love with the last 2 tracks, and am playing this album again and again. The minutes fly by and suddenly it's at the masterpiece final track yet again. I almost want to give this a perfect 100, but the first half of the album is just a little less powerful, but still very good. Jan 1, 2023

Very good songwriting with it's variety and tons of feeling. The album cover is cool and fun, but maybe looks a little cheesy. The music is definitely not cheesy; it's something you can take seriously with its sweeping melodies, harsh passion, and dark atmosphere. Dec 30, 2022

Pretty and gothic. Nothing particularly amazed me. I'd say it's more impressive in its instrumentation and production, but doesn't get the blood pumping like music does sometimes. Dec 30, 2022

Nov 4, 2024

Their most representative album of the eighties, full of innovation and class, with forceful themes and a benchmark in style for the hard rock genre, in fact it is their best-selling work to date! My personal precise rating is (94/100) Faves: Criyng In The Rain and Don´t Turn Away! Oct 30, 2024

완벽하다. 지금와서 painkiller 정도의 힘을 기대하는 것은 무리지만 관록과 경험으로 영그러진 놀라운 앨범을 냈다. 엔지니어링도 크게 한몫했다. Oct 31, 2024
