Nu metal still this good in 2022! I'm seriously impressed, and need to check out more from these guys. The sense of danger is astounding on this album, and it reminds us that edgy can be a good thing. Tons of energy too! Nov 24, 2022

Slightly better and somewhat more of an even effort compared to Shadow Zone. Also, Dirthouse is straight up a masterpiece of a song - so powerful and so perfect. Nov 24, 2022

I don't like the singing style, but the instrumentation is 100/100 for a lot of the album. Next time, I'll try the instrumental version. Nov 24, 2022

Without a doubt, the album of the day for me, and I listened to a lot. There's a lot of slow songs on this album, and they are all fantastic, especially the first and last. I love this band so much. Their discography was already great, and this one is the best I've heard from them. One album not to miss for 2022. Nov 24, 2022

A little more of a steady quality level throughout, compared to Ecdysis, but in the end they break even for me. This one proves that Lena is a true vocal master. Also, I know this is more nu metal, but if metalcore was more like this band then I wouldn't have a low opinion of it. Actually, because I like this album, I was telling myself it must be more deathcore. Is that just me? Nov 24, 2022

As you guessed, this is in DarkSpace territory. This artist also has his own style, with some cool rhythmic samples and such. Well done. Nov 24, 2022

Definitely good music. It was very fun to hear the distinctive guitarwork. I'm glad these 2 guys are intelligent enough to try be original and try different things for different albums. Nov 23, 2022

Ashes' 2nd album is more powerful than their first (which was also good). This gets massively hypnotic by the end, and it's the 2nd great work this year by people associated with Mgła. Also, it's my favorite of the day. Nov 23, 2022

Very good classic black metal sound, and it's a double album full of evil. I seldom hear from Bosnia & Herzegovina, a small nation, so I feel lucky to listen to this one. Nov 23, 2022

It's obvious they would only be satisfied with complete perfection with the recording & instrumentation. I find all the songs either top tier or almost top tier. Nov 23, 2022

Dark and dangerous extreme metal with tons of progressive madness. That means that I loved it. Nov 22, 2022

Great ancient feel to this album, and gets me into that heavy yet soothing zone. Also, the album title is almost long enough and the track titles are almost minimalist enough. Nov 22, 2022

Intense, insanely complex, and rather trippy. I usually don't like tech death this brutal and speedy, but for me this album is special. Nov 22, 2022

Doomy & dank with nasty swaggering guitarwork. After more than 30 years these guys slam down before us this totally genuine and inspired album with no lame parts and no particular flaw. Thank you Candlemass. Nov 21, 2022

I love the post-black songs, and I love when it's death metal and blackened death metal. This artist's harsh vocals a lot more enjoyable than his clean vocals. The clean singing is on songs that feel emo to me, and it's not the kind of music I like, so this album is a mix of things I enjoy and don't enjoy. Nov 19, 2022

Another great new one-man-band atmospheric black metal artist. His vocals are a real strong point, and the guitar melodies are pure ecstasy. The ambient-ish song at the end is OK, but not as excellent as the black metal songs. Nov 19, 2022

Great crushing heaviness, great deep sadness, and the calm clean guitar parts are also a real pleasure to hear. Very good album. Nov 19, 2022

Since my mind already exploded near the beginning of the EP, how did it keep exploding so many more times after that? Having a mind is confusing when listening to progressive djent. Nov 19, 2022

Good album, though it's not as powerful as their legendary debut. One thing they deserve respect for; there's a slow song on this album, and it actually works well. That's impressive for such a heavy and fast band. Nov 19, 2022

Great tremolo picking on this rather atmospheric album. High quality all around. Nov 19, 2022

This album is so furious and energetic I think everyone should hear it at least once. Nov 19, 2022

Nice sound on this album, and better songwriting than on some of their other releases. Unfortunately track 4, What Have I Done? is a big failure. The singing in the chorus is so repetitive and poorly written that I will absolutely skip that song if I listen again. Besides that flaw, it's a well-played and enjoyable album. Nov 19, 2022

This is a first full album? Wow. I love the baroque quality of the symphonic parts, and the death metal has extremely satisfying thrashy riffing. Everything on this album is very good. Nov 19, 2022

Another great album from Negura Bunget. It's just a little atmospheric, not like OM, but still super high-level black metal. Nov 19, 2022
Cosmicism 95/100
These songs are not about normal easy-to-absorb song structures. They're more like mood pieces. When I started listening, I thought this approach kept the album from being truly great. The opposite proved true, as I started really appreciating the stark bleak atmosphere that brings to mind a mechanical world that mass-produces defective & overly simple minds. Respect to Godflesh for this album. Nov 17, 2022

Great album that moves like a whole ocean of melody crashing from one shore to the next. Perfectly crafted songs that accomplish beautifully bracing musical statements. I'll force myself to stop talking about it here. Nov 17, 2022

Stylistically, I'm happy to have this on the stereo. I just didn't find the music as powerful and emotional as this band's reputation had me expecting. Nov 17, 2022

This is well made, fun, original, and has a good sense of danger. I just hope everybody learns how amazingly powerful their music is on their later albums. Nov 17, 2022

Nov 4, 2024

Their most representative album of the eighties, full of innovation and class, with forceful themes and a benchmark in style for the hard rock genre, in fact it is their best-selling work to date! My personal precise rating is (94/100) Faves: Criyng In The Rain and Don´t Turn Away! Oct 30, 2024

완벽하다. 지금와서 painkiller 정도의 힘을 기대하는 것은 무리지만 관록과 경험으로 영그러진 놀라운 앨범을 냈다. 엔지니어링도 크게 한몫했다. Oct 31, 2024
