This album is definitely good, and the singer is definitely a phenom. Dual tasking screams and beautifully clean vocals, sometimes with a split second to transition. If that were a sport, she'd be the world champ. Jan 29, 2022

What a great band, and they're improving all the time. Some songs on this are just about full on black metal - nice variety. The title track is a masterpiece! Jan 29, 2022

Good music, but the other albums from this project are better. Jan 27, 2022

This blackgaze is great and atmospheric, and has an urban feel at some parts, a trademark of A Light in the Dark. Jan 27, 2022

Good, but it doesn't equal their first album in my opinion. I thought they were destined to make Republic or Democracy or something the concept for this one. Oh well, just my thinking. Unstoppable is the clear highlight, being one of those perfect and emotional songs. Jan 27, 2022

Their music is just a little poppy, but in a way that I really like. Melissa, a masterful singer, finally found band members on her level with this project. I used to listen to Marching on Versailles most nights to fill myself with positive energy before turning in. One highlight of 2020 for me. :) Jan 27, 2022

Another good album by Wide Eyes. I have a habit of putting on Samsara, but this album doesn't dissapoint. Jan 27, 2022

I remember the 90s. I remember loving metal and hard rock, and having a respect for rap, and I was totally open to any genres mixing and influencing each other. When albums like this one came out, I remember feeling disgusted with society for combining great genres of music and ending up with cringeworthy music. It made me feel like it was a great mistake to combine polar opposite genres. I know It's not a mistake, but the me from 2000 doesn't agree with me. Jan 26, 2022

Their best album yet. It's great how this one actually rivals Caladan Brood, while staying true to Sickle of Dust's unique voice and not being exactly in the same mold as them. Lyrics here are A+++++++ Jan 26, 2022

For me, near the top of AOTY for 2021. I also wish we could include it with atmospheric black metal.... Really head banging heavy songs with breathtaking long kick drum marathons, and then there're ambient segments that set the mood. I totally love this album! Jan 26, 2022

Great music. Selves We Cannot Forgive was totally one of the songs of the summer that made 2016 a great year in my memory. Jan 26, 2022

These guys must put 10 million calories per day into their practice sessions or something. It's like perfection is a wavelength that albums like these send to my brain. I really love how Sun of War calculatedly takes it's time to achieve such a huge emotional impact on me. Jan 26, 2022

The grinding staticky synth in these songs - if your average musician used it, it would just make it sound cheap and messy. When Lustre uses it, the fuzz creates this depth to the arrangement that makes me swoon. Also notable that A Summer Night is somewhat rockin', and this is the kind of cheery song title that most black metal artists would never use. Jan 26, 2022

From the amazing B.M, when he was a lazy rasta boy with only 18 or 19 one-man-bands back in 2013. Jan 26, 2022

These guys are consistent with the beautiful music. Also, it's notable how many great atmospheric black metal bands are from Italy. I think some people need some convincing it's not only from Scandinavia and Russian. Jan 26, 2022

I appreciate how epic and long it is, but I think a few tracks kind of procrastinate and should be shortened some. There's still plenty of great music on this album. Jan 24, 2022

First day of the year again. Better than last year's in my opinion. This album might transport you to kick drum heaven. Jan 24, 2022

I hear this album and I get visions of a bunch of dudes lounging around. Someone tells them that it's time to record an album, and they whine, "Ohhhhh, do we have to??????" Jan 24, 2022

Nov 4, 2024

Their most representative album of the eighties, full of innovation and class, with forceful themes and a benchmark in style for the hard rock genre, in fact it is their best-selling work to date! My personal precise rating is (94/100) Faves: Criyng In The Rain and Don´t Turn Away! Oct 30, 2024

완벽하다. 지금와서 painkiller 정도의 힘을 기대하는 것은 무리지만 관록과 경험으로 영그러진 놀라운 앨범을 냈다. 엔지니어링도 크게 한몫했다. Oct 31, 2024
