I rather enjoyed this album. The singer brings real passion. Though it didn't bother me, the trance elements often feel tacked on. Maybe these guys need to lay on the electronic stuff thicker to make it more impressive. I'll try some more albums by them to find out. Dec 28, 2022

This very special album works perfectly, despite the genres in its description seeming kind of odd. It's a fun journey to musical styles that you never hear together. Also, it's very melodically driven with some great melodies. My pick of the day. Dec 28, 2022

Pretty good textbook melodic BM. Sometimes the cymbals sound like an annoying metallic wind. Other than that, there's not much bad about this album and I didn't find anything I really liked a lot. Dec 28, 2022

Major respect to Quorthon for taking Bathory in such a different direction with the later albums. It's amazing he did it so well too. There is a little black metal influence in my opinion. Also, the softest parts are the most impressive for me on this album. Dec 24, 2022

I really love this one - how it sets the mood with the effects at the beginning and with that harsh minimalism. I get more emotion out of this one than the 3rd album. I guess most people disagree with me, maybe this album is just more my style. Dec 24, 2022

For me it's very good, but not in the same league as the first 5 albums. Respect to the Sabbath guys for trying new things, and to Dio for being a giant beast at the microphone. Dec 24, 2022

Kittie really impress with their growing songwriting skills. I think the singer tries to do things that are outside of her vocal capabilities, which is sad because her voice is actually OK. I guess I mean she could just change her approach, sing to her strengths and the songs would improve a lot. Dec 24, 2022

My brain was constantly exploding. I like how this album gives it's guests the freedom to take it half into other genres. Also, the combination of Chino's vocal melodies and the amazing guitarwork is pure ecstasy. Dec 24, 2022

A few good guitar moments. The best songs are almost mediocre, and most are embarrassingly bad. The drums sound too simple. Also, most songs just copy the same pattern. Talk about lazy. Durst puts zero energy into his very weak rhymes and childish lyrics, and his version of singing is just talking in an annoying voice. A lame failure. Dec 24, 2022

Very good and interesting instrumentation, especially with catchy alternating patterns. For me, it doesn't grab my heart like their great 2022 album, but it's very enjoyable. Dec 24, 2022

I was expecting a weaker version of their 2008 album, but I hear the exact same level of quality. It's fun, serious, and has well crafted songs. The singer is often basically rapping, and getting kind of surly too. This usually means phony macho garbage, but for Black Comedy it sounds sincere, and I have a hunch the songs are about very difficult experiences of the band members. Too bad they broke up, but the drummer is in Abyssic! Dec 24, 2022

Nasty thick doom. These guys show tons of promise. The third track is the high point; it's just so massive. Dec 24, 2022
Cosmicism 90/100
Ignoring the immature and cringeworthy cover art, this is a high quality album. I had no idea it was going to incorporate this much thrash and heavy metal. Solid songwriting and it's all performed with total control over the mood. I especially liked the dank slow rhythms. Dec 24, 2022

A range of good music to excellent music. The best songs have soaring melodies, and the singer stands partly in Chris Cornell territory and a little in Dio's too. Very glad I gave this one a listen, and another listen etc. Dec 24, 2022

A straight black metal album of real quality here. It is rather melodic and has some clean guitars. Mostly it has a dramatic feel but sometimes it's very evil as well. Dec 24, 2022

It sounds like these guys are real pro, as in the musicianship is impressive. I know it's tech death and not brutal, but still it's a bit too much brutality for me. If you want brutality, I think you'll enjoy it a lot. Also, it has a very well developed mood that unites all the songs. Dec 24, 2022

Beautifully atmospheric as I hoped for. It also has an extremely urgent feel to it. Dec 24, 2022

Highly motivated songs all the way through, and the mood is perfect. Autumn 2022 was the time for awesome BM releases from Poland. Dec 21, 2022

I didn't like these songs anywhere near as much as I liked 2022's album, but the band still gives me good vibes and I look forward to trying all their other releases. Also, the cover art is loads of fun. Dec 21, 2022

This has the most amazing contrast between energetic swaggering riffs and mournful crooning vocals. I loved it. Dec 21, 2022

When 7 Words came out I was ecstatic. Overall, Adrenaline is as gratifying as musically possible. The guys evolved with their next albums and learned how to access a deeper esthetic sense. This is still a totally solid album though. Dec 18, 2022

Absolutely love this album. I even love the singing, which is funny because his voice is kinda annoying. I remember hearing Genius when it was a single, and that was a great surprise on playing this album. The drum&bass genre mixed with metal is pure fire on this album. This is what I wanted Aphex Twin to play before I learned their straight up ambient. Definitely a fan of Pitchshifter now. Dec 18, 2022

Some good songs and some corny radio-friendly songs. It's like when they tried for a hit single the songwriting decreased in quality, and the singing got cringey. On the other songs, the guitar sound is super gratifying, and the songs have real motivation. All in all, maybe I'll skip 2 or 3 songs, but listen to it again happily. Dec 18, 2022

Nov 4, 2024

Their most representative album of the eighties, full of innovation and class, with forceful themes and a benchmark in style for the hard rock genre, in fact it is their best-selling work to date! My personal precise rating is (94/100) Faves: Criyng In The Rain and Don´t Turn Away! Oct 30, 2024

완벽하다. 지금와서 painkiller 정도의 힘을 기대하는 것은 무리지만 관록과 경험으로 영그러진 놀라운 앨범을 냈다. 엔지니어링도 크게 한몫했다. Oct 31, 2024
