올해에 발매된 Hordes of Chaos는 크리에이터 특유의 스래쉬 메탈을 들려주고 있다. 38분이란 시간 동안 특유의 살벌한 분위기로 앨범 전체를 지배하고 있는데, 초기의 공격성이 여전히 죽지 않았음을 잘 보여주고 있다. 첫 트랙부터 중반까지 폭풍같이 달려주고 후반에서 약간 루즈한 진행을 보여주지만 크게 흠잡을 정도는 아니다. 독일 스래쉬 거장이란 이름이 아깝지 않는 2009년의 신보.

전작이 화끈해서 상대적으로 빛을 못 받는 앨범이지만 이 앨범도 전작의 연장선에 있다고 볼 순 있다. 그렇지만 Hordes of Chaos와 Demon Prince외에 잘 듣는 트랙은 없다.

2000년대에 들어서 초심을 되찾고 스래쉬 사운드를 계속 투하하고 있습니다. 곡괭이로 내려찍는듯한 폭력적 리프들은 괜찮은데 보컬이 너무 별로입니다. 지금까지 들었던 이들의 작품중 가장 이질적인 보컬로, 초기의 브루탈한 보이스와 비교해보면 더 극적이며, 당장 전작과 비교해봐도 밀레의 목에 무슨 이상이 생겼던건 아닌지, 드라이브가 제대로 안걸리네요.

이전 음반이 너무 완성도가 높아서 상대적으로 낮게 평가되고 있고 사운드 또한 말랑말랑한 느낌은 들지만 이음반 하나로만 본다면 충분히 잘 만들어진 앨범이다.

적당하다는 말이 딱 어울리는 완성도. 스래쉬만큼 몰개성이 흔한 장르가 없는데, 이 앨범은 후기 크리에이터만의 개성이 듬뿍 들어가있는것이 장점이라면 장점.

고등학생때 처음 들었을적엔 진짜 개작살 난장판이라 생각했는데, 지금 보면 멜로딕함을 강조해서 그런지는 몰라도 은근 질린다. 잘만든 음악임에는 분명하다.
