Darkspace influence for sure, and done quite well. Please guys, keep making new music exactly like this. Apr 16, 2023

Soundbites are overused on this album, but there's also a lot of decent industrial metal here. The last song is more than decent - totally beautiful to my ear. Apr 16, 2023

Focused on Scottish ghost stories as a theme, and yes there are bagpipes. All the traditional instrumentation works very well in this album - it's 100% integrated and not tacked on. Actually the bagpipes harmonizing with the black metal is the most powerful part of this well-written album. Apr 16, 2023

A Polish band goes as 2nd wave and as Norwegian as the actual 2nd wave bands from Norway. If you're looking for evil, a wave of relief will hit you as this album gives you what you're looking for. Apr 16, 2023

Rather unique style that is very intense. It's like some super emotive kind of doom. It doesn't sound top tier to me, but it's extremely memorable, and the members deserve a lot of recognition for that fact. Apr 16, 2023
Cosmicism 80/100
These guys have enough guts to make the doom powerful, and enough vision to make the psych trippy. I think the singer can perfect his delivery a little, and maybe the compositions could benefit from more nuance, but these guys are heading in the right direction for sure. This AI cover art looks like midjourney, and I'm totally sick its style. Lo-tech solutions like Nekus's new album are the superior choice in my mind. Apr 16, 2023

Fuzzy gritty distortion so dirty it will make any creature with ears recoil in unbearable disgust. Yeah, I really loved it, but maybe you were guessing I would based on the cover photo anyway. Apr 16, 2023

The first full-length from these guys, and it totally blew me away. Deep, dark, monstrous, & cavernous doom metal. Their official album description goes on and on about how extreme this sounds, and it is 100% correct. Apr 16, 2023

Know I wish I'd learned about these guys sooner. This is a very pleasing EP. The playing sounds super tight, but I don't find it very impressive; I just end up wanting to hear a full album. Guess I'll be trying their earlier releases. Apr 16, 2023

There's some good stoner metal on this album, but the cosmic ambience just takes up too much time, dragging down from 80 to 75. Apr 16, 2023

A long satisfying atmospheric BM album that goes by in a flash. The use of horns was a unique highlight. Apr 15, 2023

I'm giving it the same score, but I like Individual Thought Patterns a tiny bit more. I really appreciate the songwriting on this one, and Chuck's vocals give it great passion. A little more variety in how he delivered them could have made this album even better. That's my one small criticism on this wonderful recording. Apr 15, 2023

Very consistent album that avoids any weak or unfocused composition. I'm trying to decide if I like this as much as Death Magnetic. Either way, definitely good and definitely satisfyingly old school. I especially love the title track. Apr 15, 2023

This album with perfect cover art came right onto my stereo and blew me away with its sweeping dramatic and rather Drudkh arrangements. It was already ecstasy, but then the songs ended in these powerful culminations, especially the first track, and I realized I was in atmospheric perfection territory. It makes sense now looking back at their discography, but I only knew them from their 2022 EP, so now I'll think of Aethyrick as one of the major current BM bands. Apr 14, 2023

Extremely good EP, and I'm so close to moving my score up to a hundred. They've had their own style for years now, but they seem to have more to say instrumentally than ever. At the rate they're going with their musical skills, their next release will just knock me through a wall. Apr 9, 2023

All is good here, especially their style. There is strong emotion and good compositions. Their 2018 album feels a bit better to me, but I'm sure I'll come back to this one once in a while too. Apr 9, 2023

Was guessing I was choosing other genres I tend to listen to more, but I got death metal instead. It is a overwhelming, but there wasn't any point that I disliked it. Actually I had a good time and found it somewhat old school, but my judgement on that might be not so expert. Apr 9, 2023
Cosmicism 90/100
I really love how the songs go through so much variety, but all within atmospheric BM. There's one fade out I don't like on this album, but I still consider this a very high-level band. Respect for them for being a band for so many years before debuting with this very good recording. Apr 9, 2023

I wasn't expecting something even better than there 2023 album, but this is. It's like I'm hearing half Cult of Luna and half atmospheric black metal that is also very melancholic. It all has a great feeling of theatricality, and it held my full attention from start to finish. Great work. Apr 9, 2023

I really like this. The new album has such a great reputation so far, so I thought I was going to like it a lot more. Anyway, let's look at the bright side. The bright side is evil fire burining into my face. Also, the music sounds the way that fire feels. Apr 7, 2023

I realize the composition could be tighter, trimmed, & more nuanced, but this whole album is really fun. The head-bopping riffs, the ambient parts; it's all super pleasing. Apr 7, 2023
Cosmicism 95/100
I love this band. This release's instrumentation is more articulate and nuanced than 99% of black metal, and it's control of atmosphere & mood is greater than 99% of not-black-metal. Somewhat lo-fi but pretty clear. The melodies reach deep into my subconscious and I don't even understand what's happening in there. It might sound weird to you, but it's what I like. Apr 7, 2023
Cosmicism 90/100
My kind of melodeath. I guess my kind of melodeath doesn't sound much like melodeath for some moments in the album, but I think if the sub-genre was redefined to this album then it would be a better sub-genre. These guys have been in a bunch of black metal and doom bands, so I'm totally biased in their favor, but this is far superior to this year's In Flames album. Apr 6, 2023

Blayne Smith's Metal Monthly introduces me to fantastic artists again. This 70s metal worship has so much passion in the soaring vocal melodies that seem to flow endlessly. NWOTHM is a busy movement adding great variety to today's music, and I truly loved this album, my pick of the day. Apr 6, 2023

Wow, lost in the river of fuzz while feelings of evil plans and drama overpower me. This is the 2nd atmospheric album with Burzum influence I listened to today, and it's songwriting is even better than the other one. I'm not going to lie, I chose to listen to this album because the the seldom-seen blue font looked so interesting. Anyway, there might be big things in the future for this artist. Apr 6, 2023

Hypnotic and unnerving. This one has a lot more powerful moments than some other Epäihminen albums. There are some great screams in the field-recording level, and the main vocals clip like crazy (as usual for this artist). In the end, a very good recording, approaching greatness. Apr 6, 2023

Nov 4, 2024

Their most representative album of the eighties, full of innovation and class, with forceful themes and a benchmark in style for the hard rock genre, in fact it is their best-selling work to date! My personal precise rating is (94/100) Faves: Criyng In The Rain and Don´t Turn Away! Oct 30, 2024

완벽하다. 지금와서 painkiller 정도의 힘을 기대하는 것은 무리지만 관록과 경험으로 영그러진 놀라운 앨범을 냈다. 엔지니어링도 크게 한몫했다. Oct 31, 2024
