Awesome, powerful vocal performance with some incredibly good choruses despite being an Extreme Metal record. The Groove parts are a bit boring, but everything else is amazing. Jan 7, 2025

Fantastic, underrated Melodic Blackened Speed Metal with some of the simplest albeit catchiest riffs ever put to record. Jan 7, 2025

Very standard Southern Metal. No bad songs, but no memorable ones either. Good if you like the genre, but offers nothing otherwise. Jan 7, 2025

Bafflingly terrible vocal decisions and odd, nonsensical songwriting kill what could be an otherwise interesting and gloomy record. The songs that are closer to standard Doom are great, but the Avant-Garde stuff is just like a poor circus act. Jan 7, 2025

Possibly the band's weakest album. Too often lacks energy and mostly stays in boring Groove territory. Jan 7, 2025

Yeah, there's some insane musicianship to admire here. But really nothing pleasant to listen to. Nutnost Popravy is a stand out track though. Jan 7, 2025

Impressive musicianship, particularly the drums, but the songs are quite unpleasant to listen to, and that trumps anything else. Dec 14, 2024

Rotten Sound always delivers quality. This EP is among their weaker material, but it's still a fine EP, not a throwaway release at all. Dec 14, 2024

As usual, Godflesh's brand of Dub and Electro-Industrial flavored Metal doesn't please me. The experimental stuff here is really bad. Dec 14, 2024

This one is kind of a mess, mixing Metalcore, Nu Metal, and Groove Metal. It is one of the earlier bands to do something like that, but unfortunately the result here is something excessively chuggy and heavy on the 0's (which I don't prefer). Dec 14, 2024

Very unnecessary. The songs are quite below standard for the band. Are these covers or something? Dec 14, 2024

Travesty, very unpleasant noise. The Hand of Doom cover is tolerable, but every change they made was a poor one. Dec 14, 2024

This one is just super inconsistent. Ranges from the great and monolithic "Sovereign" down to the quite poor tribal and droning "Flood" Dec 14, 2024

Pretty average Metalcore. Most songs are decent, but the not so great "Sweet Princess Thief" brings it down a bit. Dec 14, 2024

An inconsistent collection of In the Woods' unreleased material before their first disbandment in 2000. The Gothic and Doomy songs are great, but across 75 minutes, there's way too much meandering and poor experimentation. Dec 14, 2024

An excellent record from these underrated yet consistent Death Metallers. A nice mix of influences here and a unique songwriting style results in a sound all their own, pulled off very well. Dec 14, 2024

I dunno, this is Malmsteen's... 12th album. And it's just more of the same. It's good, but it gets a bit old hearing him do pretty much the same thing every time. Jul 29, 2024

W.A.S.P. have always been sleazy, but it was a more evil, dark, Metal kinda sleazy. This is just disgusting. "Dirty Balls"? Come on. Jul 29, 2024

Magnificent Symphonic Gothic Metal, loaded with power. "Heritique" is one for the ages. Jul 29, 2024

I love "To Have and Have not." The rest is pretty much filler Gothic Metal/Rock. Good, not standout. Jul 29, 2024

Really strong Viking Metal album with liberal Black and Power Metal influence. Great stuff, full of energy, riffs, nonstop entertainment. Jul 29, 2024

This one is a bit lukewarm. The songs are all quite mid tempo and don't employ many memorable riffs or melodies. It's good, just not great, especially not as much as the last few albums. Jul 29, 2024

Technical, manic, extreme, disharmonic, all for the sake of it. Musicianship here is top tier, but songwriting is nonexistent. Completely unpleasant. Jul 29, 2024

Great 2nd wave Black Metal in the classic style, no tricks, no gimmicks, just played straight. Jul 29, 2024

On the brink of greatness. Some of the soundscapes here are magical, and the guitar leads have improved so much. Some actual Metal drumming is a much welcome change from the previous works. They just need to work on some of the empty/repetitive boring sections that take up a bit too much space. Jul 29, 2024

Phenomenal Power Metal debut, already perfecting everything good Power Metal should do. "Fullmoon" in particular is just so catchy and fun. Despite the uplifting sound, most of these tracks are actually a bit dark, pessimistic or sad in nature. Jul 29, 2024

Too bizarre and weird for me. There are some really cool ideas here, and I like the loose concept of the dangers of modernity and overconsumption/technology, but too much of this is chaotic, aimless, and unpleasant. Jul 29, 2024

One of the best Thrash bands returns to their roots after a bout of Crossover Thrash albums. It's the strongest they've been in years, filled with ripping, roaring Thrash. Jul 29, 2024

One of the most divisive Metal records of all time. Personally, I've always loved Slipknot, but I find this their least consistent album. Jul 29, 2024

Skyclad haven't missed yet. This is another nice package of some of the greatest lyrics in this style. Jul 29, 2024

3 days ago

Great classic album with incredible songs like "The Evil That Men do","Moonchild" or "The Clairvoyant". Mar 4, 2025

Mar 10, 2025

I'm pretty sure this is the best debut in history. Sonata Arctica immediately does what they do best and the result is amazing. "FullMoon" is a great song. Mar 11, 2025

Great album but not at the level of the debut in my opinion. The band tries a bit of progressive direction with pretty good results, although some songs are quite weak. The end of the album is great. Good job Sonata! Mar 11, 2025

DT caught my attention with their previous album and this one confirms my thoughts on them. I´m not so fond of their old stuffs but these 2 keep me on my feet and I will go back to them regularly. Mar 12, 2025

Very good album by Dream Theater. As always Mar 4, 2025

The "Ram It Down" is a very underrated album, but in 1988 in the german Metal Hammer looked like a new classic by the soundcheck.Otherwise the "Ram it Down" and the "Hard As Iron"(with thundering riff) are great fast classic Priest songs. All in all i think only the "Love Zone" is the only one problematic song and the Lp is great.. Mar 8, 2025
