Iron Maiden – Somewhere in Time (1986) | 95/100 Jan 17, 2025
Another masterpiece from Iron Maiden. Have you ever thought about what a "Back to the Future" style metal album would sound like? We're pretty close to it now. The song material is great, as is the production. Adrian Smith is the main man on this album, responsible for the best solos of his career and many classic songs. Great album, I really miss the 80s. Fortunately, Maiden helps the world's grief.

Iron Maiden – Powerslave (1984) | 95/100 Jan 17, 2025
Really, really good album! With "Powerslave" Iron Maiden continues where it left off on the previous album, but does everything better, starting with the immortal classic songs, the great production level and the amazing musical skills. Only "Back In The Village" prevents the album from being the band's strongest, but it's still a masterpiece. And: On this album, Bruce Dickinson proves that he is the best heavy singer of all time, check it yourself if you don't believe.

Iron Maiden – Piece of Mind (1983) | 90/100 Jan 14, 2025
Almost as great an album as its predecessor, although the level drops a bit towards the end. The closing track "To Tame A Land" is admittedly an underrated masterpiece of the band's production. The album contains a lot of references to literature and movies. It is also the debut of the band's longtime drummer Nicko McBrain, and an extremely successful one at that. Really good album, Iron Maiden was undeniably the king of the 80s!

Iron Maiden – The Number of the Beast (1982) | 95/100 Jan 14, 2025
Bruce Dickinson's first album in the band also marks the birth of the band's first masterpiece. Despite the two clearly weaker songs ("Invaders", "Gangland"), it is an incredibly strong and versatile piece of art, where Dickinson's wonderful vocal performance is the icing on the cake. I'm not saying it's the band's best work, but definitely one of the best, and everyone's general education includes knowing TNOTB by heart. Great job guys, Up The Irons!

Iron Maiden – Killers (1981) | 85/100 Jan 12, 2025
"Killers" is in many ways a turning point in the band's career. First of all, guitarist Adrian Smith and master producer Martin Birch are involved in the band's activities on this particular album. The band has also reduced the punk-rock tone heard on their debut, and "Killers" is, in my opinion, the band's first real, pure heavy metal album. The song material is not perfect, but the feeling is there and with the power of the title track, the album is definitely a good album.

Iron Maiden – Iron Maiden (1980) | 85/100 Jan 12, 2025
Classic. Definitely a classic. Even though Iron Maiden's debut doesn't match the level of production and the album doesn't deserve the value of a masterpiece in terms of song material, the atmosphere prevailing on the album is something that seeks its equal. However, the band still hasn't found an established style on the album, and this disturbs the listening experience a little for me. Nevertheless, a successful start to the legendary band's career. R.I.P. Paul Di'Anno.
