이 앨범을 처음 들었을 때 아련하게 머릿 속에 떠오르는 밴드가 하나 있다. 바로 스웨덴 출신의 Black Metal 밴드 Dissection이다. Sacramentum의 정규 데뷔 앨범에서는 초기 블랙 메탈씬에 중대한 영향을 끼쳤던 걸출한 밴드 Dissection의 자취가 강하게 느껴진다. 이들은 블랙 메탈에 Dissection 식의 차가운 멜로디를 가미하여 상당한 반향을 얻어냈고, 여기에 기반한 데뷔 앨범은 팬들로부터 수작으로 평가받았다. 그러나 이들의 데뷔 앨범을 전반적으로 살펴보면 Dissection의 열화 버전으로밖에 생각되지 않는다. 멜로디나 구성, 악곡의 전개 등 모든 부분에서 Sacramentum은 Dissection의 비슷한 부류의 작품 Storm of the Light's Bane에 비해 다소 쳐지는 느낌이 든다. 작품 자체는 비록 괜찮은 수준에 머무르고 있다고 보지만 동향 출신의 밴드가 워낙 우월한 위치에 있어 버린 탓에 다소 묻히지 않았나 싶다. 그러나 앨범 자체는 거듭 말하지만 나무랄 데 없는 수작이다. Dissection 아류라는 소리에서 벗어나기는 힘들지만, 앨범에서 쓰인 멜로디나 북유럽 특유의 찬바람 부는 듯한 사운드는 Sacramentum이 얼마나 재능이 있는 밴드였는지를 잘 알려주고 있다.

Holly shit. I've been a huge fan of Dissection for quite some time, they are one of the best bands for me . This is a grand masterpiece

Awesome Melodic Black Metal work from Sweden. I absolutely dig all of the songs. They bear lots o' priceless, memorable melodies that'll make this album stay in your playlist for weeks.
