TheIronWeasel 90/100Not what I typically imagine when I think of death/doom, but the elements are there. There is evidently a fair degree of humor to the album (I see why the band refers to itself as direct-to-video), but they are clearly apt songwriters. The album stays serious enough to keep the concept interesting. Its biggest strengths are the grooves the guitar gets into and the vocal variations throughout. Could do with a little more intricacy, but overall an unexpectedly solid album! Jun 28, 2022

Perpetual Night's biggest strength is their refusal to forsake rhythm in favor of intricate melodies; both are present and they make for an enjoyable listen. There could be more vocal range, but overall it's a solid performance and there is much more range here than most melodic death albums. Jun 28, 2022
TheIronWeasel 95/100Aptera is not afraid to run the musical gambit with You Can't Bury What Still Burns. Through pretty much every track Aptera flows smoothly between doom, sludge and traditional metal. Plenty of catchy riffs. High replay value. The recording is very organic, however could have done with a little more depth. Great album! Can't wait to hear more! Jun 28, 2022
TheIronWeasel 85/100Fairly simple music that is well-arranged into something entertaining. Last House on the Left does well at stringing songs together, and this album flows smoothly. It was interesting for them to include such a short song as Such Things Happen, but it worked surprisingly well with the rest of the album. Love that snare sound! Biggest gripe is that some aspects begin to feel a little repetetive, but it's pretty short-lived. Overall solid. Jun 28, 2022

TheIronWeasel 90/100Plenty of humor and sarcasm to go around! Brujeria's greatest strength is the vocal style of Juan Brujo. This is especially true during more melodic sections. A fun album throughout! My only complaint would be the length of some of the interludes. Overall, memorable riffs and hooks! Recommended! Jun 28, 2022

zangfei 95/100헬로윈 감마레이로 입문한 저로썬 메탈 장르에 뜸해질때가 많았는데, 간만에 이런 엘범을 처음부터 끝까지 들으니 감회가 새롭습니다. 멜로디면 멜로디 구성이면 구성 정신없이 40분여가량이 순삭되는 경험을 했습니다. 파워메탈 장르가 이렇게 잘 살아있구나 하는 감동 받았습니다.. 메탈이 생소한 아내도 좋아하고 자주 듣네요 ㅎ Mar 13, 2025

FOAD 70/100자기복제에 빠진 프록메탈의 제왕. 삼십년의 세월을 거스를 수 는 없었는지 노력한 티는 많이 드러나나 성공적이었다고는 볼 수 없다. 존의 기타도 차력쑈 이상은 보여주지 못하고 있고 특히 포트노이는 익숙하고 반복적인 패턴의 드럼 필인만을 남발하여 곡에 전혀 도움이 되지 못하고 있다. 다음 작품이 제왕의 운명을 결정하지 않을까 싶다. Mar 2, 2025

똘복이 90/100거칠기 그지없던, 정말 올드 블랙틱하기까지 했던 초창기의 사운드가 원시성과 야만성을 충분히 살린 채 정제된 3집. 이들의 명반에 들어가야 한다는 데엔 이견이 없다. 듣다보면 3집까지의 시간동안 이들에게도 여유와 관록이 붙었음을 연주력에서 확실히 느낄 수 있다. 아울러 아직까지는 타협치 않는다는 어떠한 고집도 느끼게 된다. 추억이 방울방울하네. Mar 2, 2025

DIFFERENCE 90/100Great album but not at the level of the debut in my opinion. The band tries a bit of progressive direction with pretty good results, although some songs are quite weak. The end of the album is great. Good job Sonata! Mar 11, 2025

똘복이 90/100아무래도 이 1집에서는 많은 이들이 Sweet Child o' Mine을 꼽겠지만, 내게 있어서 이 앨범 최고의 곡은 절대적으로 Nightrain이다. 밴드의 정체성, 색깔, 연주력 등을 한 번에 대변해주는 곡이랄까. 심지어 가사까지 말이다. 같이 늙어간다는 말이 어울리겠지만, 그때의 열정 속에서 Nightrain을 외치고 연주를 하던 그들의 모습은 정말로 젊음의 영웅이자 양아치였다. Mar 19, 2025
