When this band came out I thought, 'Wait, what? Are you serious?" Please direct your attention to Numbers by Psychostick to recover mentally. May 17, 2022

Intense and heavy, and the guitar sound is beastly. I think we should play this and read Shakespeare's histories. May 17, 2022

Just 4 songs and 36 minutes, but intensely atmospheric perfection. I can't say enough about how much I love Drudkh. They have their own unique sound, but they try some new things every 5 or 6 years, and I love it all. May 17, 2022

Pure shining dominance! This is a juggernaut of awesome songs. It takes you zooming through the skies, outer space, into your soul, through dark and dusty log cabins. In My Time of Dying is probably my #1 song of any band. In the Light can transform your soul. Don't forget how heavy and pounding Trampled Under Foot and The Wanton Song are. For me those 2 are metal. For me this album is a major landmark for human civilization. May 17, 2022

I just love this album so much. The Rain Song could bring me to tears, and No Quarter is so dark and foreboding I'm tingling. Sorry to say, I give it 95 instead of 100. This is because of The Crunge. I know some people say it's complex and funky, but I just can't enjoy it. May 17, 2022

Beyond album titles, beyond the band's name being on the cover, and beyond what anyone could even dream for in an album. The weaker songs on the album are some of the best rock songs ever. I enjoy Misty Mountain Hop and When the Levee Breaks the most. It's only 42 minutes, but it's like 8 hours of quality condensed. May 17, 2022

This album is a lot of fun and it broadens the band's sound. I don't love it as much as the 2 before it, but it's still awesome. May 17, 2022

Such a good album. Maybe you're not surprised, but I'm in it for the heavy and fast and whaling bluesy songs. However, the slow and sentimental songs amaze me as well. This band totally wiped the floor with bands like the Beatles. May 17, 2022

God I love these guys. With their first album they were already world class, and 2 of them were seasoned veterans. Super passionate album. May 17, 2022

Death metal is not my main focus, but when I finally played this album I was totally blown away at the beauty, musicianship, and expert songwriting. I pictured some brutal death metal band stepped backstage for a rest somewhere in the world, and the best jazz musicians to ever live just happened to be in the crowd. They stepped onstage and, with those metal instruments, played their own best songs with more fervor than they ever had before. The result sounded like this. May 17, 2022

More instruments and a higher budget sound, and Sabbath does it without going phony or losing passion. People often underrate it I think. Who Are You is a good gimmicky track with tons of atmosphere, but not as fine and beautiful as the other tracks, so I skip it once in a while. That's the reason it doesn't get a perfect 100. Every time I'm asked I'll say it; this is my favorite from Black Sabbath. Every single song is so fun and powerful, and Supernaut is the best thing in all universes. Remember After Forever from the previous album. Supernaut is lyrically the opposite of that one. Black Sabbath - a band that can do everything. May 17, 2022

Oh yeah. Their albums were already great, but here is where they get particularly fun. The thick bog of the first song, and the last tracks NASTY grooves both span a lot of variety composition-wise. Also bear in mind that on this one album, lyrics take us from potheads, to defending the christian church, to people flying into the sun to somehow start a new life, and there's also soul stealing. All in a day's work for Black Sabbath. May 17, 2022

I like their next few albums a little more than this, but this still gets a perfect score. It's unassailable. A highlight for me is how slow and dank it gets in the 2nd movement of Fairies Wear Boots. At first I felt like Planet Caravan was the band taking a rest. Now I hear it as really deep music. Great great music. May 17, 2022

The first time I laid eyes on this album, I felt like I had already been in that scene standing over by the water. Every time I listen to it I have the feeling that I'm all alone and it's playing just for me. The composition is so creative and playful. Also, this is where metal begins for me, as well as doom in particular. Exhilarating music. May 17, 2022

For me, a very solid album with no particular weakpoints, but not astounding either. I'm rather surprised that back in the 90s this didn't make it onto MTV, alternative radio, modern rock radio etc as far is I heard. Played next to Metallica's Load & Reload, Pantera, Korn, Tool, and Alice in Chains etc which were everywhere, Draconian Times would've fit right in. May 16, 2022

High quality recording and playing. Soaring melodies, and I can feel the adventure. For years of my life I've been telling myself to find time to listen to Visigoth (because of Caladan Brood). I'm thankful I finally gave them a try, May 15, 2022

This is good, and Ante-Inferno achieves a very cathartic sound with big climaxes. However, it makes me think that so many bands achieve the same thing, and some phenoms have a little extra value squeezed into their songs. Also, here there is some fading out that I didn't like much. Overall good, and respect to the cover artist. May 15, 2022

Here he finds the just-right composition. This is deep in the thick Lo-fi grinding distortion and, when the female vocals come in, we're in Valhalla. Sometimes Hermóðr songs kinda get stuck in a groove without finding a resolution or climax. Here it totally converts. So soothing, so rebellious, so hypnotic, so epic, even mournful. 100% noice. The sound of this album is something they immersed themselves in and committed to. It's kinda like Katatonia but harsher and scratchier. It works very well and puts me in a good mood. Back in the 90s I would've thought track lengths like this are totally natural. Now I wish there were a few longer songs. Maybe that's just my quirk.... May 15, 2022

I'm glad Blayne from Banger TV mentioned this one. Instrumentally it's beautiful doom, dipping into the stoner side of things. I find the singer very good, inching toward the boundaries of greatness. Good album from a pretty young band. May 14, 2022

Here, Déhà ventures into Dark Space's dark space and creates a raw and atmospheric black metal album that swims through deep thick liquids in a magical temple underground somewhere. Dank and captivating. May 14, 2022

This was one of those bands I heard about for years, but never sort out in my mind what songs were theirs. Now that I have everything straight, I'm glad I listened to a whole album. I'll definitely give more of their discography a try some time. May 14, 2022

This one is atmospheric in a folk sort of way. It's definitely emotionally engaging and impressive instrumentally. Austin Lunn from Panopticon helps out, which is really cool. It's amazing how many great atmospheric albums came out in 2021. I'm still finding great ones after many months. Good quality album that is very dramatic. May 14, 2022

Nov 4, 2024

Their most representative album of the eighties, full of innovation and class, with forceful themes and a benchmark in style for the hard rock genre, in fact it is their best-selling work to date! My personal precise rating is (94/100) Faves: Criyng In The Rain and Don´t Turn Away! Oct 30, 2024
