Great proggy BM and some of it is the great pagan tracks as the Isle of Men EP. Dec 2, 2024

I liked this album by Inanna, and I appreciate the thick atmosphere. Dec 2, 2024

Fuming Mouth did pretty well here I think. Nov 30, 2024

There's a rerelease if you want a tiny more body to the sound, but either way these black metal riffs & rhythms just drive my center of emotions into overdrive. Such nice evil and pagan feels. Nov 27, 2024

Musicianship this great.... and of course it's the result of some Faustian bargain. Nov 27, 2024

Daniel Dekay listed a bunch of 2023 recommendations on Banger at the close of last year. I spent Monday catching up with those recommendations and this hardcore & doom death album of pure insanity was the high point of my day. The whole thing is just so sick. A thousand thanks to Mr. Dekay. Nov 27, 2024

A lack of punk in the diet is a leading cause of brainrot. Thanks to Dr. Drain for helping me yesterday. Nov 27, 2024

Just as the heartwarming cover art prognosticates, a nice enjoyable time. Nov 27, 2024

I can hear how the band was still evolving & improving at this time, on their way to greater heights. There are still some excellent songs here, and the famous radio hits deserve their fame. Nov 24, 2024

My pick of the day. Powerful death metal that just smashes everything in the room, but it also has tons of thick atmosphere packed into every song. Every instrument shines, and these band members already deserved praise but now they get even more. My pick of the day. Nov 24, 2024

Déhà's new raw BM project, apparently meaning 'lightning & death', is as dark as possible. This is also not for an average metal fan, let alone a normie. I really appreciated the feeling of endless darkness, and the distant-sounding lo-fi recording helped him achieve that. Thanks yet again to one of my favorite artists. Nov 24, 2024

Mostly good songs, and I can feel there was a real effort here. The 1st half is all right, but track 6 I found pretty weak. Then after that the quality jumps way up for the remainder. Not near his best work, but there's still real passion in it. Nov 24, 2024

This EP doesn't give me the impact of his later releases, but I'm glad I gave it a few listens. Nov 24, 2024

Take a guess what to whom this album is an homage. The title might help you a bit. I enjoyed the diabolical feelings from this good symphonic BM. Nov 24, 2024

Great energy from Testament on their debut. Nov 24, 2024

Very good songs and performances, and it's definitely early thrash & speed metal worship done right. Nov 24, 2024

All but one of these songs is on their 2024 album, but it was still cool to hear this nice EP. Nov 24, 2024

Shadowland took me by surprise with the folky segments and the very epic feel of this one, like it's telling a story. It turns out it's inspired by a story from his mind, and this translated well into the final product. I expected something good, and I got something a bit better. Nice work. Nov 24, 2024

Good songwriting on this one, and the drumming was very notable too. Especially considering this is so early in their career, it's quite impressive and is something to be proud of. Nov 24, 2024

Pretty good. There are some bright spots like tracks 7 and 9, and overall it's a good soundscape. Most songs are too crowded with vocals, and I think that's the main thing really holding this album back; it could be a bunch better. Nov 24, 2024

My pick of the day today. Excellent songs with tons of visceral power. Similar artwork to last year's, but the music is a bit different. Anyway, keep up the good work Auriferous Flame. Nov 20, 2024

So lo-fi that many will find it unlistenable, but if you can stand it there are some nice melodies on this EP. Nov 20, 2024

Very good and krrrrrrrrrrraaaaazy heavy. Nov 20, 2024

It has some good moments. Tracks 3 and 4 did not work for me so much. Track 5 is apparently a rendition of For Whom The Bell Tolls, and I liked this track the most. Nov 20, 2024

Mar 30, 2025

I'm pretty sure this is the best debut in history. Sonata Arctica immediately does what they do best and the result is amazing. "FullMoon" is a great song. Mar 11, 2025

Great album but not at the level of the debut in my opinion. The band tries a bit of progressive direction with pretty good results, although some songs are quite weak. The end of the album is great. Good job Sonata! Mar 11, 2025

DT caught my attention with their previous album and this one confirms my thoughts on them. I´m not so fond of their old stuffs but these 2 keep me on my feet and I will go back to them regularly. Mar 12, 2025

4 days ago

Like "Silence", only 1000 times better. The band's absolute best album. Not all the songs are masterpieces, but the best ones are incredible and the atmosphere of the album is epic. Mar 11, 2025

그 나이에 이게 데뷔앨범 이라는게 믿기지 않는다...다만 이때 모든 힘을 쏟은 것일까...ㅠ Mar 12, 2025

Probably Judas Priest's most commercially successful album, and it's extremely good. The song material is brilliant, and if we forget the existence of "Pain And Pleasure" and "Fever", it's perfect. The "Hellion/Electric Eye" duo is still one of the greatest opening tracks in metal history. The production is tuned to exactly the level that a band of this class should have. And then there's Rob Halford. Absolutely phenomenal, a top-3 Priest album for me. Mar 13, 2025

Rainbow leaves classic hard rock behind with their second album and begins to create the beginnings of the genre that would later be called power metal. The song material is practically perfect and the album features perhaps the strongest band line-up in history. The last two songs are pure masterpieces. If melodic old-school heavy metal with incredible vocal performances interests you, now you know where to look. Legendary! Mar 15, 2025
