With this EP, he was still chasing the same kind of sound as in Plague, and I just love it to death. The space-exploration theme comes through so clearly with no vocals. I'm really thankful for this artist's work. Mar 10, 2025

The rateyourmusic geniuses still have this one under the 'dissonant black metal' sub-genre when Theophonos himself gives this album the tag 'there's 5 seconds of black metal' on the bandcamp page. Anyway, it's a good listen. Mar 10, 2025

Nuts & intense. Also, they put the white belt tag on their bandcamp page. I can't explain what that means sonically, but the sass & emoviolence etc are accurate to the best of my knowledge. Anyway, the type of cover art might convey most of what I'm saying so..... yeah. It's nuts. Mar 9, 2025

Sometimes bands come back after a few decades. Good energy throughout. I would just skip the 2 intros, but still quite a good experience. Mar 9, 2025

A lot of great moments throughout this blackgaze release, and a few of them are those vicious evil moments that Unreqvited is capable of. Really solid. Mar 9, 2025

I went back to this earlier Sylvaine album and found my pick of the week. Just excellent music from start to finish. Severance is my favorite, but I was in paradise for each song. Mar 9, 2025

Very good album from Anaal Nathrakh. Even though they have much better than this, I still get the feeling that their exact mix of sub-genres is successfully formulated to be the heaviest possible mix. Mar 9, 2025

Cool early refused. Please be aware of how much more amazing this band became just some years later. Mar 9, 2025

Nice and heavy from a new artist. I liked Track 4 the most. Mar 9, 2025

Pretty good. There's a nice dystopian feel, but the impact I get from it is a little muted. Mar 9, 2025

I can't really get into brutal DM so often, but I'm getting pretty fond of Pathology. Even their early albums are well made and feel like a deadly adventure. Mar 9, 2025

Pretty good album by these guys. The deluxe edition has a bonus track, which is a cover of Street Spirit, one of Radiohead's many masterpieces. The level of songwriting is so much higher for that cover track, making it even clearer that most of this Harakiri for the Sky album is rather mediocre. Mar 9, 2025

Very good album by Schavot. I need to listen to these guys more. Mar 9, 2025

What a great album cover that really makes me want to listen, and then I discover a very consistent recording, and yes it's full of the nice evil vibes the cover art promises. Mar 9, 2025

Another polished and highly impactful album from them. In a few short years they already have 2 great albums. Great work Ofnus. Mar 9, 2025

Pretty good. Their melodies get much more expressive on later releases. Anyway, a great start to their discography. Mar 9, 2025

The excellent musicianship and the inspired combination of rousing pagan melodies, earthshaking heavy metal guitar, and tones darkness - all things I've come to expect from Havukruunu. Another fantastic album from them. Mar 9, 2025

The start of their career, but still pretty darn good. Mar 3, 2025

What most people will think of the uncensored album cover is what they will think of the sound. I really appreciate the ferociousness and the speed, and mumbling and meowing for no reason is a bit funny. It's also torture to listen to this, but it's supposed to be torture so it's achieving its goal. More important than rating this is just to warn you about how extreme this recording is. Mar 3, 2025

Speed!!! As much speed as possible. My pick of the day for last Friday. This is a fantastic new band smashing on tot the scene. I'll say it already: this is a must-listen for 2025. Mar 3, 2025

Not quite as black metal as most info I read implied. Anyway, here's a solid heavy metal album. Mar 3, 2025

Great death doom with that cavernous sepulchral atmosphere. Easy to recommend. Mar 3, 2025

I can't explain it, but the first time this sounded so weak and mediocre. The next day it sounded quite solid and full of dank atmosphere and sinister moods. Good blackened DM. Mar 3, 2025

The groove riffing is pretty darn good at times. The lyrics are often so full of failure and worth some eye-rolling. A bit too commercial, but so-so in the long run. Mar 3, 2025

More consistent than their Body and Soul EP. Marian is the only song I would call excellent. Way too many fade-outs, by the way. Mar 3, 2025

Cool to hear this gothic rock from when it was a new exploding thing. That 'time machine' feeling. Track 2 hoists my score up a heck of a lot. Mar 3, 2025

I remember New Noise playing on 120 minutes. Suddenly the awesomest band was introduced to people like me. Now hearing the whole album, there's a lot of different kinds of music worked in, jarring in a fun & playful way. From track 6 to track 11 it's pure dominance. I really need to listen to these guys more. Mar 3, 2025

There's a lot to like, and just a few minor flaws. That track 9 really just blows my mind. Great work Heavenly. Mar 3, 2025

A solid EP of early crust punk. Track 5 is the most enjoyable for me, but the whole EP is good. Mar 3, 2025

Mar 30, 2025

I'm pretty sure this is the best debut in history. Sonata Arctica immediately does what they do best and the result is amazing. "FullMoon" is a great song. Mar 11, 2025

Great album but not at the level of the debut in my opinion. The band tries a bit of progressive direction with pretty good results, although some songs are quite weak. The end of the album is great. Good job Sonata! Mar 11, 2025

DT caught my attention with their previous album and this one confirms my thoughts on them. I´m not so fond of their old stuffs but these 2 keep me on my feet and I will go back to them regularly. Mar 12, 2025

4 days ago

Like "Silence", only 1000 times better. The band's absolute best album. Not all the songs are masterpieces, but the best ones are incredible and the atmosphere of the album is epic. Mar 11, 2025

그 나이에 이게 데뷔앨범 이라는게 믿기지 않는다...다만 이때 모든 힘을 쏟은 것일까...ㅠ Mar 12, 2025

Probably Judas Priest's most commercially successful album, and it's extremely good. The song material is brilliant, and if we forget the existence of "Pain And Pleasure" and "Fever", it's perfect. The "Hellion/Electric Eye" duo is still one of the greatest opening tracks in metal history. The production is tuned to exactly the level that a band of this class should have. And then there's Rob Halford. Absolutely phenomenal, a top-3 Priest album for me. Mar 13, 2025

Rainbow leaves classic hard rock behind with their second album and begins to create the beginnings of the genre that would later be called power metal. The song material is practically perfect and the album features perhaps the strongest band line-up in history. The last two songs are pure masterpieces. If melodic old-school heavy metal with incredible vocal performances interests you, now you know where to look. Legendary! Mar 15, 2025
