Not as good as Powertrip, but still 100% enjoyable. Also, Monster Magnet was playing the moment Will Riker's beard emerged - I can just feel it. Yes this is extremely cool music. Feb 15, 2023

Very impressive compositions and tons of emotion. I really respect this band for making so many dense layers of beauty in therir songs. Feb 15, 2023

Especially on Nascency there is some great songwriting on this album. Lucky for us he kept getting better & better, but this older work is a nice listen once in a while too. Feb 14, 2023

The best album I listened to today. Soul destroying coldness & heaviness. Everything is good, but the vocals are the most astounding. It really doesn't make sense how her first release is this excellent. I guess there have always been brand new musicians who are this phenomenal, but it never stops amazing me. Feb 14, 2023

I'm guessing influence from Candlemass, and some from Metallica's 1st five albums. Also there is really minimal black metal influence in the drumming and song structure. Rather good. Feb 14, 2023

First of all, I love that album cover. Second, I have a strong suspicion that this guy was listening to Elderwind non-stop for months before writing this album. Anyway, it's good stoner stuff. While it's not great for me, I won't be surprised if I find a great album somewhere in the discography. Feb 14, 2023

Vvilderness always keeps it's sound but always tries something new. I loved the Celtic feel to some of the tracks, and the atmosphere is truly great. I feel like this album ends before living up to it's full potential. Though there are top-tier 35-minute albums out there, for Vvilderness I see in the future an even better album if he gets more ambitious and tries something bigger & longer. Feb 14, 2023

I really loved the punky energy of this crossover thrash album, and I absolutely had to find out what kind of sound went with that album cover. So many good bands have come out in the past few years. I highly recommend this heavy & vigorous release. Feb 12, 2023

Very well thought out songwriting played with a great touch. The parts that sound so simple are somehow charged with extremely powerful emotion despite the softness of most of the album. The blackened parts are used for adding a disturbing feel to the instrumentation that is pretending to sound peaceful. Memorable and very interesting. Feb 12, 2023

Good post & atmospheric BM. The vocals are more brutal than you might expect. Overall, I like it but don't love it. Feb 12, 2023

Score of 85, but close to giving it 90. This band has so many good albums, and they're a fantastic example of how to approach the genres of gothic metal and gothic doom. The guitar sounds here are so perfect, and the songwriting is quite strong. The vocals get extremely sentimental without being corny. Definitely a good & solid album. Feb 12, 2023

Great songwriting throughout, and this music makes you feel super cool. I really respect how the singer has very good voice and technique, but sometimes he holds back to make the music more dramatic and interesting. Really near perfect album, and I will listen again, many times I think. Feb 10, 2023

Yes I came to hear these riffs and feel the grooves, and I got everything I wanted in an extremely pleasing way. Feb 10, 2023

Top-tier dark feelings on this immensely powerful album. I didn't expect I was going to hear such groovy slow tempo and mid slow tempo music. I can't say enough about how captivating the melodies and moods are on this. Feb 10, 2023

This is music by serious pros who have a real budget and high production values. However, the corniness of the sound & lyrics had me uncomfortable. I thought I would hear Paradise Lost and Theatre of Tragedy type stuff. Instead it was often grandmacore. I guess in Europe, there is actually a market for radio-friendly grandma-centric metal. Extremely soothing, almost raw black metal. I would like to hear a little of complexity from the percussion once in a while. Besides that, everything is positive about this album for me. Please keep making music, Desdenova. Feb 10, 2023

It's a noticeable improvement since their first album. Too much following Koяn's lead. I think they would've done better to look to their own voice in terms of songwriting. Overall, I enjoyed it a little. Feb 10, 2023

Wow, the really heavy sludge sections of this album are just fantastic. However, there is one corny sappy song that kinda had me in agony, and the song near the end when he just can't stop praying to all these things - that was like waiting in a dentist's office. I'll know which tracks to skip next time to get to the good stuff. Feb 9, 2023

Highly memorable melodies for most songs, and I really love the singer's punky hardcore style. Every song just screams, 'high quality awesomeness!!!!!!!1111one1.' Feb 9, 2023

A huge looooong album with only 1 track under 8 minutes. It's ambitious and a recipe for making weak songwriting probable. However, I loved every song and have no complaints. This music is such a barrage on your brain cells that you might want to listen to half and take a break in the middle. It depends on your personality. Feb 9, 2023

Very pleasing to the ear from start to finish. I don't find it particularly amazing like many people do, but we all have our preferences. Feb 8, 2023

Finally I find a Periphery album that lives up to their stellar reputation. Songwriting, guitar sound, instrumentation - everything is good on this one. I even liked the vocals on this one a lot more than their previous work. Good work, guys. Feb 8, 2023

Amazing variety on this album. CMND/CTRL sounds like straight up nu metal to me. Usually Chino's lyrics are top tier, but they're not quite as good on some of these songs. Also, there is no limit to how exciting Rocket Skates is for me. Overall, very good. Feb 8, 2023

This album is very ambitious, and the whole thing works very well. The doominess gets really thick and satisfying, and the trippy parts get rather long while still holding my attention nonstop. Well done, Clouds Taste Satanic. Feb 7, 2023

Overall, it's a good album. There's a bit too many vocals, and that detracts a little for me. Not as fantastic as www.pitchshifter.com, but I still enjoyed every song. Feb 7, 2023

Great discovery for me today. Here's a skillful and inspired one-man-band. I think I hear influences from Distant Dream and Porcupine Tree. There are so many uplifting melodies, but they are contrasted with unsettling tones here and there. All things considered, very good music that puts me in a great mood. Feb 7, 2023

Nov 4, 2024

Their most representative album of the eighties, full of innovation and class, with forceful themes and a benchmark in style for the hard rock genre, in fact it is their best-selling work to date! My personal precise rating is (94/100) Faves: Criyng In The Rain and Don´t Turn Away! Oct 30, 2024

완벽하다. 지금와서 painkiller 정도의 힘을 기대하는 것은 무리지만 관록과 경험으로 영그러진 놀라운 앨범을 냈다. 엔지니어링도 크게 한몫했다. Oct 31, 2024
