I was surprised that this album was such classic textbook atmospheric black metal. Esoctrilihum is usually so weird and out of this dimension. The weirdness does show up on this album, just not as much as I expected. I guess it shows how he was influenced by other bands back in 2017, and his own unique ideas started showing up in his songwriting more and more as the years went by. One of many very good atmospheric BM albums from 2021. Portraits is such an evocative title for an album. When I listen to this, I don't focus on the emotion so much, but more on the sense of drama, like there's a massive and tragic story behind the curtain of sound. Such a dependable band. Vocals are deep and deathy without feeling cookie monster. Doom elements are grandiose and mournful but are more energetic than doom usually is. I really can't enjoy this, even though the album cover is so cool. The vocals are monotonous and repetitive, and the instruments don't really evoke much emotion, though they are spooky & evil. 어쿠스틱 기타, 첼로, 플루트 등을 이용하여 녹음한 어쿠스틱 사운드의 작품이다. 그러나 표현하고자 하는 사운드의 방향성 자체는 무겁고 진지하다. 멜로디가 약간 서늘한 냉기를 품고 있다. 더운 여름에 들으면 시원함을 느낄 수도 있지만 대체로 가을의 분위기에 잘 어울린다. 커버아트와 음악의 매칭이 절묘하다.   Nov 4, 2024

95-100 2024년까지 나온 오케스트라와의 협연 음반 모든 것을 통틀어 최고다. 다 어설픈 편곡때문에 그냥 원곡 듣고 말지 라는 생각이 드는 반면 이 음반은 최소 제대로 만들어진 영화음악 하나 들었다 할 정도로 편곡자체가 매우 잘 되어 밴드와 오케스트라가 제대로 융화 예상과 달리 스튜디오로 앨범을 냈지만 dvd 2disc를 사면 라이브 시디가 포함되어 있는 듯 하다.   3 days ago

훌륭한 데뷰. 1집을 꼭 사야 할까라는 생각으로 살다가 이제야 얻어걸린 느낌으로 사게 되었다. 물론 1집을 필수라고 여기지 않았지만 후회도 없다. 보컬이 멤버들보다 나이가 10여살 많은 걸로 기억하고 게디리의 좀 더 듣기 좋은 버전이라고 생각이 든다. 다만 믹싱이 마음에 들지 않아서 살짝 밋밋하다. 보컬과 드럼이 살짝 뒤로 간 느낌.리믹스가 절실하나 과연?   Nov 7, 2024
