For this album, I recognize the skill it takes to create this, so all respect to the Soreption guys. I don't really feel the excitement and passion I felt on their Jord album. Still solid tech death. Jun 18, 2022

Full of imagination and captitvating textures. I give this the same score as his 2021 album, but 2021's is just a hair better in my opinion. Eternity of Shaog has a rather doom laden feeling for a lot of parts. Esoctrilihum mixes genres in his own unique way, embracing boundaries and grey zones. Such a special artist. Jun 18, 2022

This is an awesome calming empowering cloud that wraps around you. Every song is a critique on a genre of music, while also a way to make each genre much weirder. This album is fusion, but in a good unique way, believe me. Every element is super high level except maybe the vocals which are not particularly bad. Highly recommended. Jun 18, 2022

Very well produced music here. I don't really get into this as much as Dream Theater, for example. I find it a little corny, but I mostly enjoyed it at the same time. Jun 17, 2022

I recognize this is very good music by a highly skilled band. On this album, there are some parts where I don't really enjoy it because I feel it's too overbearing, but I understand that this is pure enjoyment for a lot of metal fans. Other parts, I enjoy quite a lot. Also, the saxophone is cool even if it's not original for tech death. If it's good it's good. Jun 17, 2022

More or less post rock for the first half of the album, and the black metal gets more prominent in the 2nd half, and it has a very sad feeling all the way through. The songwriting doesn't feel as fully formed as it does on his 2022 album. Still pretty and worth a listen though. Jun 17, 2022

Quick nimble and very emotional progressive metal. Totally instrumental, a little like Distant Dream and Widek. The cover must be Japan, but the theme is Stravinsky's "Rite of Spring" and 60s Film-noir movies. There's a bunch of voice-overs from Vertigo and other classic films. Great sound to the recording, and very good instrumentation. Jun 17, 2022

2nd album I've given a try by this band... So far their a very consistent bunch. I don't prefer death doom, but they're helping me reconsider that. A couple songs have some classic rock sounding riffage in the midst of death doom. The combination works very well. Also, cool imaginative album cover. Jun 17, 2022

The buzz is intense about this album. It's like some people expect it to make the best albums in history sound like junk in comparison. Let's have normal expectations. It's a very good exciting and inventive album. Maybe their last two releases are just a hair better, if not this one is more or less equal. Let's be happy we have such a good post-black metal album this year. Jun 17, 2022

I really like the slower thrashy melodies. Overall, I like it even though I don't love death metal. At some points the music gets over-complicated for my taste, but it has good energy throughout. Cosmic Putrefaction's music is not for everyone, but I can't say it's bad. Definitely give it a chance if your main thing is death metal, Maybe try it otherwise. Jun 16, 2022

What a fun album, but when I say fun, I mean harsh and illicit in all the best ways. I can really feel the guys in a room together creating these songs. A.D.I.D.A.S, in particular, is a song so good it should be a legend. Life Is Peachy is so unorthodox, and it sounds like it's destined to be played while you drive around slowly with your friends and just chill. Jun 16, 2022

This is very thick and tight technical death metal, and the guitar sound is often kinda djenty. It has a cool vibe to it. It's like they're saying, 'We're not going to pause or hesitate because we don't want to waste your time. Here's how we play. See if you like it.' Well, I like it. Jun 16, 2022

I was hoping for some epic power metal with some virtuoso or maybe progressive instrumentation. I didn't get that here. Actually, in the beginning of the album it's barely even metal. By the later songs I feel like I'm listening to Nickelback in Spanish. This might be mom rock to be used in a Spanish soap opera. If you're looking for that, I guess this album does what you want very well. For me it's kinda corny. Jun 16, 2022

Fully instrumental from this duo. They call their band progressive metal, but if you're looking for djent, this album sounds like it to my ears. It's super busy and bouncy, with a soothing ether in the background and very positive energy. Nice gratifying album. Jun 13, 2022

First I heard from this band. It definitely has beauty. I'm not crazy about it, but they're pros at playing and singing. Maybe I prefer unorthodox compositions and freak-outs too much. I have a feeling people who love epic power metal with symphonic instrumentation will like this a lot more than me. If that's you, give it a try. Jun 13, 2022

Put these 2 artists together and we get one of the most special albums in recent times. After listening to it how could you think of this combination as anything but perfect? Jun 13, 2022

Good album that I don't love, but I can tell it's played by pros. The vocals are rather cookie monster, but the instrumentation keeps me from turning it off. The progressive and technical stuff is a strong point, and even more would've been even better. Jun 12, 2022

Overall good. Like always it's all great instrumentation. I often find the music is full of fun, so I do enjoy it. This album doesn't engage me emotionally as much as some others by Epica. Also, the end of the album has too much slow non-metal for my taste. In the end I still enjoy it to some degree. Jun 11, 2022

The symphonic parts create an atmosphere of evil and trickery. Powerful and lush album. Jun 10, 2022

I like their kind of death doom. This album flows very well. In a couple of places it reminds me of The Ruins of Beverast. Recommended even for people not so into death metal. Jun 10, 2022

Overall solid thrash album but in the like-not-love category. The songwriting and recording make the lyrics the main focus, and I find the lyrics not bad but not particularly great. Jun 10, 2022

I don't tend to find much music from China, so it's pleasant to discover a good one. This album is big and dramatic. The cover is also gold. Jun 9, 2022

So this is a re-recording of songs from 2 early albums and one B-side. For me, it's not as powerful as their more recent albums. Jun 9, 2022

I've heard a few of their albums so far, and this one surprised me in it's beauty, passion, and thoughtful songwriting. By my standards, this is very commercial, but it does that without feeling phony. The vibes and tone remind me a lot of the Load and Reload albums by Metallica plus some gothic highlights. However, I feel this is somewhat better than those 2 Metallica albums. In Requiem is totally one I'll remember. Jun 9, 2022
Cosmicism 100/100
From a very new artist, this album is tipping 2022 toward an awesome year in atmospheric, maybe rivaling 2021. It transitions into doom-laden territory here and there, always to great effect. Intentionally dirty enough for black metal, and hi-fi enough to amaze me, this album has the trappings of a well-funded recording by a bunch of pros, yet it's 2 unsigned musicians. This album has a saddened and pained feel, and it's done so well that it's bliss for me. Jun 9, 2022

One of the wonderful surprises for me this year; I never heard of this band, and suddenly this new album becomes a favorite, possibly album of the year. I feel influence from Drudkh here, so I guess they're smart about their influences. This album is beautiful and hypnotizing, at some points achieving maximum atmosphere with only their guitars and drums. Definitely a band we should all know now. Jun 9, 2022

Nov 4, 2024

Their most representative album of the eighties, full of innovation and class, with forceful themes and a benchmark in style for the hard rock genre, in fact it is their best-selling work to date! My personal precise rating is (94/100) Faves: Criyng In The Rain and Don´t Turn Away! Oct 30, 2024

완벽하다. 지금와서 painkiller 정도의 힘을 기대하는 것은 무리지만 관록과 경험으로 영그러진 놀라운 앨범을 냈다. 엔지니어링도 크게 한몫했다. Oct 31, 2024
